playing the games is what would actually help his conditioning, taking time off would do the opposite dumbass. taking time off only helps injuries, not conditioning. kind of like how when your fat old ass gets off the couch and walks up the stairs, you're out of breath unlike when you were young and in shape.

Ain't that just sweet. And you know what else? Media will carry his fuckin' water on this fucking deal. No problem.

Please you old bitch. Since his rookie year, kobe has come up 95 games shy of playing in all 82 games for every year. That's 95 times that he missed for injury, sickness, or some other DNP not including the playoffs. Counting tonight, Dirk is only 74 games shy of playing in every single game he was ever eligible for. Dirk is a lot more hardy than Kobe. And he doesn't need to constantly fake injury in the media to prove it.

What makes it even more impressive is out of those 74 games, a huge chunk of them (35 games) came from his rookie year when the guy just wasn't quite nba ready right off the bat. Alot of dnp's from being buried on the bench as a young kid from Germany trying to adjust. If you don't count rookie seasons in the consensus, the gap is even bigger. Dirk is indisputably more hardy than Kobe.

They wouldn't make up some asinine reason that he was doing it to get in shape. They'd make fun of him for always faking injury and call him a pussy, and they'd be justified in doing so. Kobe cries and plays the fake injury card more than anyone. But to get into shape???? That doesn't even make sense. You get even more out of shape by sitting than you do from playing. Playing is the only thing that gets you into shape. It's why whenever you stop, you get out of shape ala the summer break. Common sense really.

The media would likely exalt him for a wise decision to improve himself for the benefit of the team. Media loves that boy, always talking about his injuries as if they'd cripple an ordinary man. They nonstop compare him to Michael Jordan and are salivating at the notion of 6-6 so they can have a new king to crown, something they've been desperate for since Jordan left the Jazz where he found them.

Your perception of Kobe being universally hated on is skewed by the massive amount of time you spend on message boards, where most thinking fans, unencumbered by agenda, understand just how overrated Bryant is.

On here, yes, we would make fun of him and give you the shit.

In the months following Colorado, yes, they chomped at the bit to see him fail. But once he poured in 81, the tone changed and Kobe found himself on the side of a Michael Vick like redemption.

And now they're grinding their hands together like a fly hoping Bryant notches it a 6. They need it, and they need it bad.

It's tough to remain in competition shape. Most fighters, runners, bodybuilders, etc... don't do it year around. They train for the season to get back into shape, but these guys' careers would be much shorter if they trained like that all year long.

They had very short notice that they were even going to have a season, so you can understand (if you aren't jaded) how someone like Dirk could be out of game shape.

Rest assured they'll be no studious discussions convened about this Dirk event, debating whether he's to blame like there would be if it were Bryant. Oh, yeah, if it were Bryant we'd have to have endless discussions about it. And no matter how many people were involved in the discussion it would always be evenly split:::

Talking Head #1: He should keep playing. People pay for those seats,,,,,,,though I like Kobe."

Talking Head #2: You're wrong, Fellow #1. He deserves the benefit of the doubt,,,,,,,,though I've never liked Bryant........and you may have a point.

Talking Head #3: "My turn, we're evenly split, but, I've got my orders so I'll say that Kobe is wrong, but, may be right."

Hot ass bitch & Internet guru: "Hi guys. I need to interrupt here::: [giggle, giggle,,,,,giggle.] Just got an e-mail from a nephew of a Princess in Bexar County. He says, [giggle, giggle, gum snap & pop] that they hate Kobe on ST with everything they've got." [giggle, giggle, giggle.]
