Are you really that stupid to think shooting an armed man in the leg is a good idea?

Whatever happened, the story doesn't make sense. If he was suspected of criminal activity, they would have taken his badge and gun when he reported to work.

I did some reading of other news accounts. Apparently he was being investigated, and they decided to arrest him while on DUI duty at 1 AM. That's a boneheaded decision. They could have waited for him to return to the station.

What if he was completely innocent... Set up. Then the cops who went to arrest him were ones he didn't know, thinking they were criminals, posing as cops?

I agree

pfff.... you live in your own little universe don't you? This isn't a fucking Hollywood movie. Most likely scenario, he was accused of statutory rape and didn't want to hear it.

If he was completely innocent, he would have simply surrendered his badge and gun, and let justice be done. The fact that he FIRED ON FELLOW OFFICERS makes it a pretty clear guilty verdict and an almost certain case of suicide by cop. They would have sent cops he knew to apprehend him, so that part of your wild theory doesn't hold water.

Honestly, WC, repping a child rapist? That's pretty low, even for you....

Again... Possibility. I'm not saying that's what happened. Just that it's possible.

It was an investigation he wasn't even aware of.

If they were stupid enough to make the arrest while he was at a DUI checkpoint, then don't you think they were stupid enough to send in someone he didn't know?

Why didn't they just wait for him to return to the station, take his badge and gun, suspend him, and arrest him there?

This simply doesn't pass the smell test. A few more hours wouldn't make a bit of difference.

You're right WC, something smells about this.

Wonder if they needed him silenced. Like maybe he wasn't the only one partaking of 17 year olds. If he really was.

Had to take him out at his 1 a.m. DUI checkpoint. Yeah rrrright.

Or, maybe you have a BUNCH of dead cops.

When the warrant for a bad cop comes in, you serve it. You don't wait for him to sexually assault some young chica at the DUI checkpoint.
