Is this guy for real or is he playing way above his ability? It makes me wonder why they aren't starting him. I haven't watched him much, but lately he's been doing pretty well considering.

What say you?

I would like Pau's touches to go to him, then we'll find out for sure. It certainly won't hurt to experiment.

He was the college 3pt champion last year, dunno how good he can be in the NBA tho

3pt shooters, good ones, in the NBA seem to survive even if they lack other skills (Matt Bonner, for instance). It would be interesting to see this kid do well out of nowhere. I mean, he's in the NBA and playing for the Lakers, so he's done pretty damn well already, but it's cool to see unexpected talent, and rare to see it on the Lakers.

He is what he is, a lights out shooter. Not a good athlete, he shouldn't really be starting at PG in the NBA. He's more of an undersized 2 guard. College of Charleston's always been a tough team at a lower level, my school (Coastal Carolina University) has always had a decent basketball team, they usually compete with CofC pretty well. I don't see this guy ever starting. He's a good shooter though, he can score.

But this is the lakers we're talking about, and at this point I'd would rather have goudelock playing the significant minutes than fisher. This kid will shoot and supply some energy on O which they obviously lack in. Plus he wouldn't hurt that much on D compared to fisher, dude got torched by Kidd.

Very good shooter, good speed, decision making is a little questionable but he's just a rook. Too soon to say but i like what i see.

wtf, he is not a PG, has never played pg in his life, yet you want to him to replace fisher?

Good shooter. SG with PG size and shaky handles. Not a good combo.

Agreed, at the pg position, youre expected to create and run plays in addition to others, in this case, 3pt shooting.

Bonner works because hes not expected to make plays. Hes expected to rebound and at the very least not be useless on defense but as long as hes hitting 3s and spreading the floor his positives will cancel out his negatives.

A PG needs to either be an above average defender or a play maker in addition to a 3pt specialist. With that said, there's no reason why he cant be a conditional role player off the bench. Just don't play the guy 30+ mins.

True, he really isn't a good passer, but then again Kobe is already dominating the ball for 38 % of the lakers play. I'm sure kobe could just bring the ball up and never pass it to gasol, and let goudelock go spot up, in sure when needed he could throw an entry pass to bynum once or twice a game. Plus you can't give up anything defensivly because he's replacing fisher.

He played a good game on the road. Most young players only play well at home. This kid is growing on me.

IMO the Lakers will sign........Aaron Brooks.

Edit: I thought he was an unrestricted FA, but he's a RFA. Suns are no where near the luxury tax so I can't see them not matching what LA has to offer.

Yeah but Brooks was hated like no other the few months he was here. I think it's a toss up whether or not they match the offer he signs wherever it is.

He's a good 3-point shooter.

He's Ginobili 2.0, he'll grow to be a great player...

Oh, wait. That was Sasha Vujacic.

Goldilocks is a very decent 3pt shooter (I like his form). Nothing more, nothing less. On his favour, he is on a team with a player that can attract 5 defenders on him... problem is that player will shoot over those 5 players anyway.

Oh, wait. That was Sasha Vujacic.

Yep, the night Vuj dug a hole for the Celtics then kicked 'em into it.

...."He hasn't played in a while so these free throws aren't going to be easy"...........saaaaaaaaaawish........"There is a lot of pressure here on this kid, so he may not be able to make both".....saaaaaaaaaaaawish.
