Matt Bonner fucked everything up there. Why is it that we can't even run a decent play or get a decent shot off in a close game under 10 seconds......

Oh well. I'll take Gary Neal needing a free throw to ice it just about any day. Spurs did pretty good. They're in Dallas' heads bigtime after this, and that should help down the road.

Blame the starters, they played like shit...

This. If the starters hadn't played like crap, they never would've been in that big a hole. The bench players played their hearts out and almost pulled out the win. A couple of close calls that went the Mavs way - and that's game.

This is what happens when you put your hopes on Matt Bonner and this is why he's the most hated Spur on Spurstalk.

Spurs playing like the Cowboys to end games. Missed FT's are the equivalent of retarded offside and false start penalties...not surprised they found a way to fuck up what was a great comeback. Thanks goes to Pop for not bringing Duncan or Parker back to help the bench out...Duncan probably sits out Memphis game to "rest".

I'd trust Danny Green with my life.

Horrible loss and nothing positive comes out of it. Too many times this year the spurs have lost these games barely by only a few points in the final minutes of the game. This game blows I would have just rather gotten blown out then lose like this.

Bonner touching the ball on that play other than a catch and shoot is fail. Even then it would have been a fail, but I could live with that.

Yeah some are trying to make light outta this I am talking to but they had a 7 pts lead on the road with one minute or so left and fuck it up! I am sick of that the last few years to say the least. It is another loss whether they went hard at it or not they end up losing a game they had won IMO and there is not much more to say about it. Loss 9 with Memphis tomorrow, thats not a positive at all.

Second time(first time against sac) Pop has trusted the bench to close and they failed both times. I wouldn't trust the entire bench the next time. I'd at least put Parker in the game and depending on the opponents line-up Timmy. When the Mavs were playing Dirk and Ian, I would have put Timmy and Tiago in.

I doubt thats how Pop drew it up. I think that was just the bench guys inexperience showing. We didn't have a pg on the floor and no one else came to get the ball.

Is it just me or does Neal have horrible vision/passing ability out of the PnR? He has a pretty good floater from 7-10 feet, but he shoots that shot when the defense completely collapses and he has an open roll-man (Tiago).

pretty sure it wasn't for Splitter.

I think it was supposed to be for JA cutting to the basket off the Splitter screen.

Pop just failed to realize that Bonner would fold with any type of pressure applied.

mmmhmmm. i don't know if anyone caught it, but if you were watching the espn feed, pop went over to manu and said something like "fisher can catch the ball, turn around, shot with .4 seconds and count but we can't make the same shot in .5??". they both just snickered at each other and shook their head. it happend during the review of that ball that went out between mahinmi, anderson, and green(?). the one that took over 3 minutes. it happened towards the end of the review.

It wasn't for JA. He wasn't even looking for the ball when he slashed through. Look at the replay. It was either for Tiago or Green somehow.

Agreed earlier and agreed now. His court vision leaves a lot to be desired. On the play where Marion strips the ball from him, the slow mo replay shows that hes not even looking at anything other than straight ahead.

Unfortunately every-time he plays the pick and roll he looks for that floater unless he has a clear drive to the basket.

Yeah, Bonner messed that up from the beginning though by fumbling it, we were lucky to even get the ball back there at all. Green almost hit that one man, damn that was close :(:(. I am having a hard time seeing what some see which is a positive here because they had a 7 pt lead late and lost it regardless who was in there. Another kick-in-the-teeth loss. Unlike last season where Spurs pulled away in those close last second games, they haven't been able to this season. 2 point loss to Kings, 3 point loss to Bucks, and now a 1 point loss to Mavs.

Despite the loss, It's great to see that the reserve bench is really picking it up. On the other hand, Pop was a fucking dumbass to not bring in the starters in clutch time.

Not really, one is for a ring, the other got you what? .4 for nothing as I always said, it rings true. I could care less about that now though since it's so far back and the Spurs whether win that series or not would have been beaten in the Finals if they met Detroit IMO (Spurs were better a year later when they won it).

If that one play makes the year for you though so be it bro. I would rather have .4 against me and win a title than go on to lose it though (Spurs did not win it though so I don't care really).

Neal had 7 assists. He can definitely get better at finding the roll man but not too many guys are good at that. Manu's probably the best on the team.

The sad thing is since last year against Portland they seem to be doing just that! Hearbreaking losses after heartbreaking losses up late! They seem to just flat out cringe up with a lead late and go on to OT and lose the game or lose it on some wild last second shot.

Of course the ring is the thing, but you coat-tailing another team's success b/c you couldn't beat us is funny:lol

Oh, and I'm 100% correct on the Fisher play being 100x more memorable than the Finals. There was no transcendent moment for either team in that series, no highlight (with the possible exception of Kobe's 3 in Game 2).

How about the refs letting calls go. Tiago was fouled numerous times inside late in the 4th quarter and the freaking refs let it go everytime because Dallas was down 9 in their own building. Fucking joke. The Spurs still blew the game, but a call or two would have slowed the momentum. NBA refs. Bunch of gutless pricks. Won't make the right call if it's against the home team who is down on their own court.

What is this, fucking computer assistance from NBA Jam?

They had the same inbounds play for the Neal and-1, but they had the players in the right position. For that last play, they put Bonner in Neal's spot for some reason, which means they wanted to run the pick and roll with Bonner and Splitter. Stupid.
