I said the same thing while watching it. But that is what the NBA is all about. Dunks and no D.

Maybe because he's already 3 feet in the air when Perkins decides to throw himself underneath him. If he doesn't put his arm out and the defender changes his trajectory in mid-air, he could very well land on his head and break his neck without his arm out to break the fall.
If I'm officiating that is not a brush off foul.

Are ya kidding? This is nothing even close to an offensive foul. He does not push off with his left arm. He's already dunking when Perkins comes up and makes contact. Griffin just puts his arm down onto Perkins' shoulder in reaction to the contact. If there is any foul it's a foul on Perkins. In college it would probably be a 3 point play.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DstiNYQS7bo for fun watch Manu do his thing including a sick dunk over a 7-6 Yao as well as some other incredible dunks and spin moves.
Agree not a foul - I officiate prep basketball and that was a pure facial over Perkins who rotated late. Very impressive. However, I do not think any 6-10 guy over a comparable size guy truly matches up when a PG or SG skies to throw one down over a center....but of course since it was Blake that did it the hype will go on forever.

Oh they called a defensive foul on that? I didn't notice, didn't listen to the sound on the youtube. If so then that was a superstar call. It wasn't much of a foul. That kind of stuff is normally not called if you make the basket.

It wasn't an offensive foul. Watch the replay full speed. Perkins was moving INTO Griffin, almost like an attempt to undercut. It only makes sense for the bodys natural movement be to brace yourself against something.

Pretty sick dunk.
Man, looking at those Manu highlights of 2008, I remember he had a hurt ankle against the Lakers in the WCF. I bet we beat them in 6 or 7 if he's 100% and we win it all that year.

lol...the towel over the shoulder was the first thing I noticed too.
Not in this universe or any other parallel ones is that an offensive foul on Blake or Manu's dunk on a guy stuck under the hoop better than Blake's

Heaps better then the mozgov dunk. The Mozgov dunk was technically a layup, i dont think he touched the rim with the mozgov one. An exciting young player. Now to become an all round player and play some defense mr griffin.

Blake Griffin's 22. He'll be a more complete player in about 10 years when he can't rely on his athleticism anymore.
I think it's pretty incredible that a guy 6'10 can jump like that though. I'm 6'4, my knees bother me all the time, I feel like if I was half a foot taller it would be so awkward. Blake's such a fluid athlete. And that Bonner dunk was awesome, against his former team too. Bargnani had that "really?" look on his face

I'm sorry perkins had no intention of blocking that shot. he was trying to foul griffin accross the body and grabbed him....you wanted an offensive foul for that...wow

If BONNER was anywhere near me and dunked I would have that same face! It's as if you don't expect it all! I guess he had demons to let out that day :wow:rollin:rollin

re the Blake dunk it was spectacular and he also got the typical "and one" continuation call that all NBA "superstars", stars and near stars get if they score and there is any contact. Really no problem with the defensive foul call as that is the norm for the "soft" NBA that is today - (unless you are violently hit accross DURING a shot on the arms, ala, Splitter with no call in the recent Dallas game???) Still for all its power and grace Blake just dunked on a man about his same size so what truly is the big deal? You want to see better dunks go back and watch films of David Thompson (highest leaper I ever saw) or J. Erving who on at least a weekly basis did something more spectacular IMO

I saw David Robinson dunk on the entire Pacers front line at once. That was pretty fucking good.
