Have to go with Rubio. Kid keeps this up and he could be in the best pg. in the league discussion as soon as next year.

I would have to say Irving.....I just feel like a guy who's played professional ball for as long as Rubio isn't really a rookie.

Irving, easily..

His efficiency has been unreal, and Cavs are better than expected..

Yeah, Scola's first year in the NBA was also a "rookie" reason. Just because Scola was an old man back then, most people didn't consider him one.

Wubio has been playing professional basketball for 5 years. Irving has played 11 games in college.

Rubio easily, but he's not a greenhorn

Both are doing well on what they have to do with their given teams since they play a different style. Rubio needs to get his FG% up before he takes it from Irving however.

No way anyone should say Rubio takes it easily, come on now.

Irving is easily the rookie of the year. The guy is 19 and dropping 18 and 5 and turning a piece of shit team that lost 26 straight last year into a somewhat respectable club. I knew he'd put up PPG numbers on that team that is almost completely void of good players, but I had no idea he'd shoot 51% and 40% from the 3 point line. Don't get me wrong though; I'm an enormous Rubio fan and he's going to be a really solid PG going into the future. I don't see him at allstar level until he can add an outside shot though. If Kidd can do it, Rubio can too.

Irving. Dude is very good when he calls his own number, and looking for his teammates. His passing may not be as pretty as Rubio's but it's still very effective.

:lmao how is this even a debate?

Irving is shooting 18 ppg on .511 %, .411 3p%

Rubio is shooting 11 ppg on .382%

I'm admittedly biased, but I don't see how it could be anyone other than Kyrie Irving.

If Rubio does win ROY (and I think he will because he's much flashier than Irving to get the votes) he will become the third player in the 2009 draft to win ROY.

That's nuts

I'm going with Gustavo Ayon for the Hornets. He's 8th in the league in PER at 25.9 and does everything well.

Irving easily. How is this even a serious question?

Add the fact that Rubio has been playing pro ball for years while Kyrie barely played college ball at all, it's not that close IMHO.

Rubios still considered a rook. Should be a tight race between the two.

Irving is a better scorer, but Rubio is leaps ahead in defense and the team just performs so much better with Rubio on the floor.

Ricky is destined to be the new Kidd, a player that you have to see in person to understand how he changes his team's performance.
