Howard is gonna kill whatever mark he leaves, and KG's.

Duncan will lead in that category until he retires, tbh.

I kind of doubt that tbh. It will be interesting to see. Howard's offensive game has improved quite a bit over the past couple years, but will it continue to improve?. If Howard never develops a shot I don't see him getting there. You can only rely on athleticism for so long, and then it's gone. I know Shaq was able to get by with not much of a jump shot, but Howard and Shaq are quite different.

Duncan will lead in that category until he retires, tbh.
He also could break Karl Malone's all-time record by the time he retires. Here are the players in front of him:
Karl Malone - 811 (19 years)
Shaquille O'Neal -727 (19 years)
Hakeem Olajuwon - 718 (18 years)
All of them have played longer than Tim Duncan.

^^ He can beat Hakeem and Shaq this season. I don't think he'll catch Malone though. Howard may be able to do it though.

The amazing thing is that a skilled 7 footer with long arms like Dirk has so few double doubles but he has never concentrated enough at going inside or taking the beating required to get to the boards.

Not a chance to catch Malone ... Timmys wheels will fall off before that.

I'm guessing they didn't keep this stat in the days of Wilt and Bill R??

It was bad! Duncan almost got a tech at one point because he had enough of it.

Love has a good chance if he stays healthy too.

Would be nice if he does it in a Spur uniform.

It's pretty amazing that Duncan passed Olajuwon in double-doubles already. It almost doesn't appear to be statistically possible.
Duncan has played 1081 career games with averages of 20.4 points and 11.3 rebounds. Olajuwon played 1238 games with averages of 21.8 points and 11.1 rebounds.
Congrats on passing that scrub :tu

He should pass Shaq too, before the year is out. I see nobody is giving him a chance to pass Karl Malone.

If the wheels don't fall off for another 4 years, Tim's got a fighting chance at passing Malone. Still a very small chance.
He'll pass Shaq in a few weeks at this rate.

In 4 years time there will be players in the NBA who will be born the same day Timmy was drafted.

i believe the main source of information for these stats is the BBR archive:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pgl_finder.cgi?request=1&player=&match=career&year_min=&year_max=2012&age_min=0&age_max=99&team_id=&opp_id=&is_playoffs=N&game_num_min=0&game_num_max=99&game_month=&game_location=&game_result=&is_starter=&is_active=&is_hof=&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&c1stat=pts&c1comp=gt&c1val=10&c2stat=trb&c2comp=gt&c2val=10&c3stat=&c3comp=gt&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=pts
however, they only record info starting from the 85-86 season.
i was able to find this list from elias sports bureau (as of march 8, 2011):
1 Wilt Chamberlain 966
2 Moses Malone 894
3 Elvin Hayes 890
4 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 882
5 Karl Malone 811
6 Bill Russell 780
7 Hakeem Olajuwon 774
8 Walt Bellamy 755
9 Shaquille O'Neal 727
10 Bob Pettit 708
11 Charles Barkley 705
12 Tim Duncan 704

duncan can still finish 6th if he plays 2 more seasons (approximately 180 games) - he's already at 720. however, he will definitely not break top 4.
