there goes the Clippers title chances imho

Yeah that really sucks for them, but I don't honestly believe they ever had any title chances to begin with. Could easily be the difference between the 1st and 2nd round, or possibly even making it all the way to the WCF though. West is so wide open it's hard to say and any little advantage could prove crucial. Mavs benefitted from this same thing last year (west being so wide open) but I'd say it's even more up for grabs this year.

Now who will the Clippers have to chuck 3's with 20 seconds on the clock in close games?

Extremely overrated player this season

I haven't watched a lot of Clippers games, but I thought Billups had been playing well for them so far this season. Looking at his stats, still shooting the three pointer at a very good 38%. Still one of the best free throw shooters in the game at 89-90% which is huge at the end of close games. And I think beyond the numbers, he has great value in that Chris Paul really trusts him. Might not be a huge deal, but I do think it can matter somewhat. Not to the extreme like with Kobe and his teammates. But CP3 probably is more willing to let Billups make decisions in crunchtime without a second thought. That affords the offense more balance and spacing. And even though Billups has regressed in recent years, seems like he still has juice to command trust and loyalty from teammates. That's part of team chemistry, which can be important.

Clippers should probably look at someone like Stephen Jackson, who has basically lost his spot in the Bucks rotation. Perhaps Ramon Sessions from Cleveland. And one outside-the-box idea I'd at least consider is calling up free agent James Posey and see what kind of shape he's in.

But the article didn't seem to mention anything about Billups being out for the season. I didn't even get that as being hinted at or suggested.

Clips have officially confirmed Billups has a torn ACL, out for season. Free agent after this season. Will be a hard road back.

Loses out on the remainder of this year, the Olympics, and probably ends his career.

Yeah, I can't imagine him coming back from that at 36 next season. I'm really glad to see him have such a great career after looking like a complete bust early on.

You cant say the Clips wont win a championship because of him being out with a serious face.

That's a very non- intelligent thing to say.

While history isn't on Chauncey Billups side, source close to him says it's premature to assume he can't come back from injury.

Billups still has doctors to see on the Achilles tear, and there are scenarios where rehab could be 6-8 months. Billups isn't giving up.

Chauncey Billups has such great resolve and will: I wouldn't count him out. Ever. Most importantly, he isn't counting himself out yet.

You're right, they weren't going to win one with him anyway...

Iether way Chauncey wasn't the catalyst. He wasn't going to make the championshio difference.

The defense was much better with Billups on the floor. But this won't be a huge blow to their chances imo.

ain't no big issue to dem when they have more then enough n!ggas on their backcourt, though they ain't havin no chance @ the title no matter w/ or w/o billups

not good for the clippers. looks like CP3 will have to take the last shots of the playoffs now. unless he defers to mo williams, which is even worse.

He is overrated, but it's still a huge blow..

Paul has taken over the role as the go-to guy in clutch time, so this injury is meaningless, in that regard..

Billups's 3-point shooting, toughness, leadership and defense at the 2 will be missed..

JR Smith to the Clipps?..

Ostensibly you'll benefit from it more than I will.

Becuase you know you ain't got a snow ball chance in hell even if you try.

Spurs have already defeated 3 of its top competition in the west pretty handily if you ask me so no worries here my man.

This injury means nothing to me, but as for you, you know this is personal for you since the clips have overshadowed what your squad have been doing lately in LA. A refreshing revolt movement honestly.

I don't do the overshadowed materiel. It's my religion.

His season ending injury makes my chance at #17, and your chance at #5 that much closer. That's "personal."

Soon, you're gonna be "the one."

He was comin' for us (Lakers), and he'd a come for you too if you got in the way. And you were going to be in the way. [We] don't have to worry about him now. Don't have to account for him. Basically the (worry) one.
