Ricky Williams is retiring again, and this time, it figures to last.

Williams, who played the 2011 season with the Ravens as a backup to Ray Rice, plans to retire from football at the age of 34. The former Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Texas retired in 2004, while facing suspension for violations of the league's drug policy, but returned to the Miami Dolphins in 2005.

"I will miss the game, the camaraderie, my teammates and especially the emotions of a big victory," Williams said. "I love the game and leave it feeling fulfilled, proud, in great health and excited about the future."

Yeah, rushing for 10,000 yards in 10 seasons (+ 1 game in 2007). What a shitty career. Yes, he could have been a HOFer if he didn't fuck up early in his career. In his 30s he still played great not missing a single game the last 4 seasons.

#26 on the all time rushing yards list.

Yes, Ricky took a massive shit on his career.

26 could potentially have been top 5, but we don't know because he was a fucking idiot.

Mack didn't cause him to be anything.

Leach would have taken him to the ol dark closet for being a
fuck up

Once he got all that Mack Brown coddledenss out of him, he made the most of his career. If only he went to a better college coach that taught him right.

He played for only one year under Mack Brown...

One year of coddling turned him into a lazy draft day bust. Look at all the coddling Mack Brownturdfaggit has done.

:lol Colt McCoy
:lol Vince Young
:lol Limas Sweed
:lol Cedric benson
:lol Michael Huff

Williams was a beast in his 2nd year on the Saints. Ran for 1000 yards in 10 games before he broke his ankle. He pouted the next season after Deuce was drafted and gained weight.

I could go on. QB and WR don't turn out well (no surprise given Brown/Davis' shitty offensive system) but Longhorns on D thrive in the NFL.

Cedric Benson was a turd in Chicago. Now he has 3 straight 1000 yard seasons.

You gotta admire Ricky for being the one dude who didn't do it for the money. He was immature as fuck and squandered his first chance and still came back to have a solid career. He's a weird fuck but its that type of weird where you're not sure whether he's a complete idiot or a total genius.

There are exceptions to every coddling rule, tbh

True.

Sometimes UT has talent so great that it overcomes Mack Brownturdfaggit's coddling and is ready for the NFL. Sam Acho for example has come in as a 4th round pick and busted his ass with the Cardinals because he's from Africa and knew that he better work hard in the NFL or he'd have to go back to Africa.

Still, ina world of hard ass coaches, Mack Brown just coddles.

He's the white Tony Dungy.
