"Allen Iverson and Puerto Rico’s professional basketball league are engaged in exploratory talks about a possible deal for the 11-time NBA All-Star, sources told Yahoo! Sports.... The league’s commissioner is selling Iverson on the chance to work his way back to a possible return to the NBA."

I think anyone would be dumb to sign him at this point. Scoring combo guards who rely on speed and quickness don't tend to age well, and dude was done even 2 years ago. It's just sad and pathetic to see the guys you grew up watching or idolizing turn out this way. Dude is obviously broke and in bad need of a check.

He ain't broke, he just wants back in. He's done one thing "right" his entire life.

Now that's it over all he has is the money.

^You sure about that? He seems like the type who would have really poor money management. I thought I read a story last year about him being broke?

I ain't positive.

I did read a story where he claimed he was financially set.

A member of one NBA front office, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the subject matter, said that prior to last season, a member of Iverson's family called to inquire about a contract for Iverson, explaining that Iverson owed that person money and would be unable to pay without a contract.

A similar source explained that Iverson is broke, plain and simple.

I wonder what broke him? Diamonds and shit? With Pippen it was the personal jet.

^I don't do anonymous/similar sources.

It's my religion.

You know what? I'm wrong here. I mixed Iverson up with Marbury.

I don't forgive mixups; it's my religion.

You think he would have learned something in two years at a school as good as Georgetown.

I read, I believe it was on Yahoo!, that he squandered it on gambling, partying/alcohol, and on dead beat friends.

I agree.. AI was one of my favorite guys to watch play the game. In his prime, the dude was a beast.

I'll never understand gambling in a casino when you're a multi-millionaire. Hell, I don't get it if you're middle class, but at least that one in a million shot on the slots could lift you to a higher social standing in that case.

EDIT: Let me amend that; I can't imagine gambling on anything other than poker. Obviously you can do well at poker consistently since you're not taking the house's money.

aside from poker, blackjack has the next best odds in a casino. the slots are just giving away money, though.

Blackjack is just giving away money too, just at a slower rate than roulette or slots. The only winning strategy in blackjack will get you blacklisted at every casino in town once you do it once.

i'd still estimate that black jack at least gives you 40-60 odds in the house's favor, while slots i couldn't even tell you how many times i've lost. they key to going to a casino is to plan it out and only take as much as you can afford to lose and just look at it as a fun expense. anything you bring back is just icing on the cake.

Exactly the way I see it. It's like spending money on souvenirs or spending money on an entrance to a theme park or something.

BTW, anyone know where I can find some of Iverson's shoes? I've checked Ebay, but mostly have used ( :lol ) shoes. Amazon didn't have what I was looking for either.
