good game for Manu to come back. No pressure because we are likely to kill them.

"Pop said Manu tried to talk his way onto the floor tonight, but was rebuffed. Pop wants him to get some 5-on-5 work in first."

:lol

Danny Green is starting tonight according to McDonald's twitter.

Pretty awesome to have a man on the inside. Tell Tiago he has an entire website dedicated to him...

Also, ask Manu if he'd be willing to come back against Detroit instead so my prediction comes true :lol

12th best under 25 player for underachieving SF? How could Philly say no? I'd even offer the second half of the Turd Towers to get it done.

The Spurs have gone 15-8 since the Manu injury started. Most people on here predicted they would play under .500 ball until he came back. The Spurs have done better than expected.

Players have exceeded expectations. Even the Spurs staff have said that about some of the players. I'm always happy to be wrong in situations like this. Great effort from the Spurs players.

To be exact, TP and Timmy have both hit their stride and are playing mostly superb basketball, Splitter and Leonard have been much better than even the most optimistic projections, few people expected anything from Green yet he's become a streaky but often useful rotation player, and Neal and Bonner have played up to their abilities. Grizz and RJ are the only ones who haven't outperformed, and they haven't been terrible, just not what we fans would hope for.

Not really... he was chatting up with TJ Ford all game and "instructing" Danny Green a bit... he ended up sitting at the end of the bench instead of behind.

Whats funny is most of us were happy if we went .500 without Manu and thought this all was over here! I thought they would be horrible without him, but they were not by any means and lights out lately! Should have won the Dallas game but oh well. They have 6 in a row now without him, this was unexpected.

Good news.

So, Spurs have played a third of the season (22 games) without Manu and have gone 15-7 during that stretch. Manu can be proud of his teammates because they have done an heck of a job while he was out.

Spurs teams has an easy week with some rest and games against bad teams. If they don't relax too much, wins should continue to come at a high pace.

I still don't think I would bring him back until at least after the AS break. They have been so good without him they should not be so desperate to bring him back so soon.

I think Pop will play him 8 min, then 16, then 19, then 22, then 26 or something like that not to ruin the chemistry and probably won't close games at the beginning... :wakeup

Manu led the team to 61 wins last season. This season he had a PER of 35. He was shooting 59/52/94. He's the best player on the team. I don't see how he could mess it up.

the sooner hes back the better.

I have this weird gut feeling that the way Tony has been playing recently is just begging for an injury. We gotta take the pressure off him. He's been playing like 40 mins in back to backs continuously.

Oh yeah easily! I expected them to fall back to around 10th or near that in the West and were going to be around .400 ball or something with all those road games! I was wrong and happy I was.

he will not mess it up dude. He's used to come back after injuries and knows that it takes a few games to get his rythm back

Let's just hope the Spurs will keep on winning games so Parker fans will have no argument to bash Manu!

By Jeff McDonald

NEW YORK — Manu Ginobili is good to go.

That was the pronouncement coach Gregg Popovich made after a spirited, hour-long practice in midtown Manhattan this morning. The Spurs’ star guard will make his return from a broken left hand Saturday night in New Jersey.

How did Popovich know it was time?

“When Manu’s ready, you bring him back,” Popovich said. “He’s Manu. When he’s ready to go, you don’t care if you’re winning, losing. It doesn’t matter, he’s coming back.”...(more)

Thanks, Solid D. It will be interesting to see how Pop eases him in. Hopefully this will give Tony a little more rest.

And New Jersey's Keith Bogans is hurt too. Without The Centerpiece in his way look for Manu's return to be Ditka Thread Bumpworthy.

I'm not sure if I'm ready for Manu to play point guard and handling the ball right away just to give TP some rest. Watch him become very turnover prone just trying to use that surgically repaired dominate hand again.
