View Full Version : Tim Duncan not making the All-Star Game is a God Damn Tragedy

The Spurs have the 2nd best record in the West, despite Manu being out almost the entire season. Duncan's PER destroys Marc Gasol's. Hell, he deserves it over Bynum, too, when you factor in wins/losses. Suffice it to say, Tim Duncan is the most under-appreciated legend to ever play any sport. It's a fucking shame how little these coaches know compared to me; half of them are not even black... there is no excuse.

Oh, I forgot, you are a Manu fan. You want to downplay that the Spurs are playing just as good without him and that all of the success he's had in the NBA is because of Tim Duncan. Without Tim Duncan, he has 0 rings and Tim still has 4, maybe 5(Manu lost them the playoffs with his foul on Dirk, the single dumbest play in NBA history).

So there's a clandestine anti-Timmy organization that denied him the All-Star game?

duncan is done and should be no longer considered an all-star tbh, dude's good years are far behind him now. if u can't gather enough retards to vote him into the starting 5, the way how mr. 7'6 shitty got elected 9yrs in a fucking row, then he's probably gonna miss it as the coaches ain't selectin his tired ass just because he's Tim Fucking Duncan

Duncan is done, but he has a higher PER than Dirk this season. He has a higher PER than Marc Gasol... and btw, is Gasol's team even fucking .500? Give me a break, this is nonsense and a God Damn Travesty.

Being an All-Star is meaningless. I'm sure Tim is probably relieved.

Duncan doesn't deserve it this year because of the poor start he got off to that had him barely breaking 40% shooting on some nights. Not to mention the West is insanely deep at PF. I guess you could make a good argument he should've gotten in as the reserve center. He's been better than Marc Gasol for the last 10-15 games.

According to the NBA stats page Duncan ranks 9th in the league in efficiency. He is an absolute joy to watch for the true basketball effecianado.

He's finally starting to come alive. I think Pop should gradually increase his minutes though (maybe a minute a month) to get him into game shape for the playoffs. The whole "managing minutes" concept has only seemed to hurt Duncan in the last three playoff runs, since he seemed to tire out at the end of games because his body was too acclimated to playing 30 min a game.

This goes back to the whole debate behind why they put players with better stats on bad teams on the All-Star team over those with slightly worse numbers on really good teams. There are one or two obvious reasons why a player on a better TEAM might have worse stats, because they are playing TEAM ball perhaps and playing less minutes??? Timmy was as a good a selection as Gasol if you are really thinking about who is deserving.

See above thread. Agree totally with this thread. Duncan more deserving than Dirk but Marc Gasol was a pick to placate a small market with a selection. This season has proved Gasol cannot cannot carry a team.
