Entering 4th quarter Splitter had played more against the Rapters than Bonner and Blair. Most importantly, after Blair stunk defensively again, he started the 4th and with 8 minutes left has 20 min vs 16 for Bonner and 15 for Blair. Is there hope?

Exactly, Tim with under 20 minutes played. Splitter, the beneficiary. Didn't play bad at all, but I just wish he would have gone off and made the most of his extended playing time.

29 min 13 points 5 boards a block and an assist and lots of fine screens and his defense helped stop the Raptors layup clinic. Not his best effort but good enough.

I'm just happy to win on the road. But I'm not thrilled with our D against an awful team, we gave way to many layups as you mentioned, and played lazy on jumpshots. We let them back into this game. But a W is a W. The big picture, 9 in a row baby!!!

top scoring big man tonight... the extra minutes rewarded with production

Another note from tonight, we pulled even on the road! Granted weak competition lately, but earlier in the season it didn't matter how bad the team was, the road was a loss. A good sign moving forward, Pop allowed Splitter to play 27 minutes. More to come in the future?

He should be thinking that. He has to think if it was worth sacrificing the team to save the feelings of Bonner/Blair or "be fair". He would have hurt feelings if he went with Splitter and the team might have struggled initially but in the long run the team would have been better off. They could even have come out of the West last year. I think they were better than the Mavs.

Spurs still need to do a better job of feeding Splitter the ball, he rolls a lot and gets into good position but doesn't even get a touch. Reward the big man for doing the dirty stuff. But its like everyone else on the court with Tiago also has the green light, as long as the ball keeps moving its all good

Don't get too excited. Post game interview, Pop said Matty was tending to his knee... so don't expect this to be the start of a trend.

This.

Pop's probably anxiously monitoring Matty's knee on a daily basis so he can have his carrot top back in action ASAP as the 1st big off the bench.

That's a good news. Matt Bonner should remain injured for the whole season

His PER for centers in the West is higher than the nebulous all star selection that is one Marc Gasol

Splitter reminds me alot of Oberto in that, he is very finesse and he is very efficient around the rim. he does need to polish his defense more and his rebounding is spotty, but i think he is making the most out of his minutes.

I am all for more minutes for Tiago. :flag:
