Tony has invested wisely since he was a rookie. Sounds like this is something that his brothers really want to do, so he's backing it and putting his name on it. It's hard to run a successful club here, so hopefully they can do it right.

Yeah I don't see this working out. It's pretty hard to run a club in SA and that area doesn't seem like the best for one either.

I dunno, sounds pretty cool. I may check this out when it opens.

I can see people with big bucks going there during the Spurs games, that alone may be worthwhile. Also, I'm pretty sure it's a very nice neighborhood too so people that live close to there may be able to afford the offerings.

I don't know for how long you have been following the Spurs, but everybody knows about it.
Pop already talked about it several time, as something that impressed him about Tony early maturity.
For example, when he arrived in SA, instead of renting a house or a flat like most of the new players, he bought one...

He also invested in a french BB club with limited risks.

Buying instead of renting is smart, but that doesn't mean he bought right.

Owning a pro sports team is probably something that was a dream of his, and I was already aware of this. I'm also sure he wasn't looking at it much from an investment perspective. There are much better ROI out there.

From what it looks like by this transaction, it could actually be argued he is not very wise with his money, he is obviously all too willing to cave into friends and family with his money.

I totaly agree with you on that point, if you want to make money, this is not the right business, I think everybody agree with that.

The way I see it, is that his two YOUNG brothers are retired, wanted to live in SA with their rich brother, so this is just a good occupation for them, like a hobby. Tony can afford to even lose money every year (reasonably :lol) to keep his brothers happy and next to him.
I would do the same.

Concerning Tony's portfolio, I don't know much about it except the general opinion/reports since he came in the league, which is that he's not a gambler, he invests wisely and has a great "entourage" (Dad is a former pro, lawers, agents...).

And I think I'm an alright guy.

Yeah, I think this sums it up pretty perfectly.

Cheesy name and I don't see that type of club in the burbs of San Antonio lasting very long. I hope I'm wrong but I don't like the demographics nor the concept for San Antonio and the hill country. Maybe in Miami or New York, but even there I think this is a risky longshot. Obviously TP is tryin to hook his brothers up but would've served them and himself better opening a Taco Bell franchise in France.

That location did really well for the previous owners, so they sort of have an established clientele. Of course, it still might not succeed, but it's not like it's a stab in the dark.

Jesus Christ bro, Brad Pitt to Bun B/Fat Joe. Quite the leap dont you think? Fat Joe and Bun B aren't D listers in the music industry. Household name wise, sure, but I doubt Parker was gonna book Pitt or Eminem for his grand opening. The thing is, he's actually friends with those guys in the picture. Bottom line, whatever letter of the list they are, they'll be more famous and wealthier than you or I ever will be.

You understand they took over for a nightclub that has been there for a few years, successfully, I might add. The demographics for that area are exactly what this club is looking for. Young, weathly, with the nearest upscale night club miles away off of 1604.
