Elliott or Horry?

dang... that's a tough call. What are we going to call that shot? The Father's Day Gift?

Horry's was obviously more important... But I think Elliott's was the most memorable (and difficult).

I vote for MDM. Horry's shot was clutch, but wide open.

Sean's shot was a freak of nature.

We should ask Sheed. He had the best view of both of them.

I think it still remains to be seen. If the Spurs dont win it all, its still Sean's. If the Spurs win this series, its a very tough call. I think you gotta wait a few years for the high to wear off b4 you can make that call. Alls I know, I am PUMPED right now!!

As much as I hated Horry when he was in LA. I love him now!

Well, Robert Horry's was in the most important game in Spurs history, but Sean's was simply bizzare and amazing.

Sean's was great and memorable, all-time great and beloved, more freakish and amazing.

But Horry's shot was much, much more important where it was when it was.

Elliot's shot propelled the team to their 1st championship. But wasn't that in the Western Conference Finals? Rob's shot was in the Finals, in a game 5 of a series tied 2-2 with unbelievable pressure on the Spurs to win. I take Rob's shot.

Damn, that's right!

Oh, man, Rasheed must be kicking himself right now! "How did I leave him open?"

Sean's shot. Individually, that was the second best shot in Spurs history. I still maintain Duncan's shot over Shaq was the best in the histroty of the franchise.... but this was the best game in the team's history and Rob's 4th and OT performance is far and away the greatest clutch performance in the history of this proud franchise. Rob wants #6 bad.

I say Horry's, just because of the importance. They woud've won the series in 99 whether they made the MDM or not.

Father's Day Dagger.

The guys on WOAI just called it that. Maybe they read my post? Not. A caller just suggested "Father's Day Trey." Lame.

If they had won, no doubt. But the cruel reality is you have to win the game for the shot to be the greatest.

Gotta go with Horry's, simply because it was bigger. It occurred in pivotal Game 5, when the Spurs needed a win the most. Elliot's was amazing, but it was in the West Finals.

Tough call though. Both shots will be forever in my memory, which is good, cause they're crowding out Derek Fisher's .4 disaster in there.

They woud've won the series in 99 whether they made the MDM or not. I disagree.

The Spurs barely won game 1. If they had gone back to Portland 1-1, they probably would have lost that series.

The Blazers gave up after the MDM. If you remember game 3, Duncan had his worst playoff game ever and sat on the bench for most of the game with foul trouble, and the Spurs still absolutely crushed Portland.

I agree with you there. Too bad it's gotten overshadowed by the .4 disaster. It was an amazing shot.

this is legend...

if we win this series (which we will) horry's shot should be 1, sean's should be 2. both were hardcore... but damn horry's coming off a bad first half... in the finals... game 5... ot

Duncan's shot was higher stakes than Sean's. There was no way that 99 team was losing to anyone. Portland came out on fire in game 3 of that series, and Rasheed Wallace hit one of the craziest fadeaways I've ever seen to end the first quarter of that game.... but they couldn't match up with the Spurs defensive intensity the rest of that game and played the worst 3 quarters back to back to back that I've ever seen. They gave up in game 4.

I've got to go with Elliot. But Horry is becoming a fast favorite in my house.

Robert Horry's shot looms enormous right now because we are in the moment.

But, what you all have to realize is even though most of you Spurs fans feel extremely confident that the Spurs will win this series now, Robert Horry's shot won't be more important than Sean Elliot's unless the Spurs do win this series, AND if there are no bigger shots in the game in which the Spurs clinch (if they do clinch) their fourth win of the series.

For example, if the series ends up going to game 7, and game 7 is a triple overtime game in which Tony Parker hits a tough floater in the lane to win it for the Spurs by 1 point, then that will likely be the biggest shot in Spurs history.

Alternatively, if by the grace of universal design, the Pistons are able to win two at San Antonio, the Robert Horry 3 pointer will be all but negated as an important shot in Spurs history, and will basically serve as a haunting reminder of what could have been.

It looks tough for the Pistons right now, but they'll fight to the end, and will give the Spurs everything they got in game 6, and hopefully enough so they can give the Spurs everything they got in a game 7.

what a dilemma... having to choose between two shots from two great players. i still have to go with seans shot though. i couldnt be happier tonight, but there was just something about 99 that cant be put into words...

Top 5 definitely,....I dunno if i'd put it over the Memorial Day Miracle Shot since we won the Title in 99 with that one..

we still have to win 1 more to equal or surpass that one in terms of the road to the championship. At least, thats how i look at it.

Seans shot was unbelievable.

But given the situation the series was in and the possible mental state of the team, I have to give it BSR
