View Full Version : Pop is a Genius

Resting Tony and TD was a great move. First and foremost, not for the rest itself, but rather the damaging doubting effect it will have on the Blazers and the rest of the league. Pop is playing the "no one has seen the real Spurs" card. And it's true. The Spurs have hardly been 100% healthy all year. No one can say for sure if they can really beat the healthy Spurs in a seven game series. If and when the health comes together, even the Blazers will fear us. And they should.

Nothing says "Fear me" like turning around and dropping your pants.

Oh, I assure you this is completely 100% legit and serious. The popsuckers are in all full damage control now and it's rather amusing what they come up with as excuses.

So, on one side we have Pop, who is one of the most accomplished coaches in NBA history with 4 championships under his belt. On the other side, so called Spurs fans that think they know better from the confines of their couch, blabbling about on forums that Pop Tiago, TP or anyone that doesn't do things exactly how they see it, suck and should be fired, traded.

Oh, no, you've got me all wrong. I love Tiago. Trade Parker and fire Popobitch, tbh.

It's not really genius to make the obvious move.

Those that think it was a bad move would be the same ones complaining that Pop played them in a meaningless game and they had gotten hurt. Some people want it both ways.

Sometimes all it takes to be a genius is not to be stupid. Pop is not stupid. I endorse his move.

People need to stop overanalyzing one game and get over it already.

I thought Pop might be losing it for a quick second earlier this year, but what he's done with a bunch of no names and a couple of aging former superstars, with injuries to boot is remarkable. No one can credibly disagree.

Pop sees bright side to rout

With coach Gregg Popovich sitting his top scorer and assist man, Tony Parker, and his top rebounder and No. 2 scorer, Tim Duncan, there was only one thing Popovich cared about Tuesday.

“The only expectation I have is to play hard,” he said after the most lopsided loss for a Spurs team since March 5, 1997, when the Chicago Bulls scored a 111-69 victory.

And his assessment of the effort given by the nine players who saw action?

“They busted their butts,” he said.

Right. Meaning that their top 5 guys were basically out as I put Bonner slightly above Dick Jefferson in value.
