Is Manu's defense hurting his game?

No pun intended. Most of his freak injuries recently if not all have have been on the defensive end where some part of his body was where it shouldn't have been or he trying to force the action. His latest from reports was a blow to the oblique when fighting around screens.

My advice would be to tone down the intensity on that end and save it for the playoffs.

That could hold true but im hoping he realizes by now his teammates could live with straight up defense and covering for him when needed.

He owes it to his teammates and team to give himself the best chance of staying healthy.

As much as i love seeing Manu come flying from nowehere to get a block, swiping at anything or puting his body on the line just to get an extra step around a screen its simply not worth it. He more than makes up for it with other parts of his game.

Manu will never lower it down and if he did Manu wouldn't be Manu anymore. Having said that with the way he plays I'm amazed he has lasted this long and hasn't been forced into retirement. It seems like now his body is starting to really break down. I'm hopeful he'll last until next season.

manu has 2 settings. On or Off

You know Offensively Manu has learnt to control that switch. He lets the game come to him, doing what he does best passing and scoring. I think starting has helped get him into that comfort zone.

Defensively hardly at all. He's couragious but reckless at the same time.

Manu would be nothing without his aggression. Asking him to tone that down is like asking Kobe to not shoot.
