View Full Version : Horry's jam, Tony's D...

No-one is talking about Horry's massive, hanging at 45degrees, lefty jam (how many 34yos with leg/hip/back problems have you seen put one down like that???), and Tony Parker's D throughout the late 4th and OT, staying in front of people and making them work. I hate it when his mind wanders, but at the end tonight I thought he was excellent. Hopefully we see more of that.

Comments?

I was talkin bout TP's defense on Richard on the last play of the game. It was great defense, Spurs Defense.

I stopped breathing over that dunk. That was frickin' incredible. All of a sudden he has 19 year old legs.

That dunk was completely awesome. Hope it doesn't get lost in all his 3's...that was sick.

Dunk of the year.

I thought Kori was going to faint.

That dunk was sick as hell. Everyone will talk about and remember the 5-6 3 pointers, but that dunk, and his gentle two hand putback off the O rebound were probably his biggest two plays of the game.

I know! I stopped breathing; it was so overwhelming.

I think it's one of the best dunks under massive pressure that I've ever seen.

I mean, we have all seen both Big Shot Bob and BB pass up threes only to drive and charge their man so many times, and when I saw Rob upfake and start to drive I was gulping, but he had this steely look, and then he just absolutely SKYED and rocked it with his left. I couldn't contain my scream of surprise and delight! He was a long way from the rim for an old man!!! :lol

Moments like that, the 3, and Tony's gutty D on that last play are what make it worth being a mad sports fan... just make sure you have health insurance for the triple bypass!

Yeah, on the replay it did look like he popped his shoulder out. I hope it's not too badly injured...

As for Tony, sometimes he is capable of playing excellent D - he moves his feet, gets in the guy's space, makes him make the shot, but then at other times he just wanders off and is a complete liabilty. We need more of the former and less of the latter. He is a tough little mofo though. Gotta love him for that. Took a nice elbow to the face from Rip on that final play, as he has from the Pistons all series...

That dunk and Malik's dunk are very close, I'd call it equal.

Both were in the NBA Finals too, amazing.

Rip could have drawn a charge if he didn't care about getting hit. But that is Rip for you. He never...I mean never draws a charge. What is worse is they actually gave him the ball with the game on the line...a big NO-NO.

No to mention he already had 5 fouls!!! Big Shot Rob let's it all hang out!!! That kind of play speaks volumes for what kind of an impact a veteran player can like Horry can have on the rest of his team. I guarrantee the Spurs play at a higher level of confidence after that game... :spin

Horry still has alot of fight left in him. I always make fun of his skinny legs and ankles. He didn't have a problem with that dunk last night. I was left in awe. :)
