Yep this has been the problem with this event for a while, Jame White probably could have won 2 or 3 of these (07 at least) he doesn't need props, just a wide assortment of FT line dunks

Next year, don't even make them do the dunks. Just put the most popular people on the floor, and let everyone vote for which one they like the best. Then, after it's all over, they can do some exhibition dunks if they want.

Why didn't Blake Griffin come back? I don't remember if Shaq or Chuck said it, but I agree that they need to get stars to compete in the dunk contest. Nobody wants to watch these guys. And I also agree that it has become too gimmicky. Cut the bs props and just dunk. I don't know why the dunk contest is the "main event" of allstar Saturday night anyway... it's the least entertaining event right now.

I'll say this much for the dunk contest: it provided me with a great example to provide my loved ones regarding my final wishes. If I ever become as much of a pathetic shell of my former self as the dunk contest has become then I want them to smother me with a pillow.

Out of curiosity why wasn't a Spur even considered either for the 3 pt and dunk contest ? I know kawhi is injured, but prior to his injury wasn't he considered? or is he really not a decent jumper at all for the dunk contest?
What about Neal and Bonner as a 3 pt shooter ? I find it hard to believe that Chalmers is a better 3 pt shooter than the two. what is the basis of making the shootout?
