ElNono

1. Wade
2. Manu (when healthy)
3. T-Mac
4a. Bryant
4b. Joe Johnson
5. Eric Gordon (when healthy)

tbh, ranking Joe Johnson was problematic, especially with his bloated deal.

I got Monta over Bryant. Dude is a pure explosive shooting
guard

Just rank Manu like any other NBA fan/critic/writer/whatever would. It's kinda boring to read these lists with "Manu when healthy", "Manu circa 2005", "Manu if he was actually better than he is"...

Wade leads the pack, Kobe is still Kobe, the other SGs are pretty much irrelevant.

On offense only?

1. Wade
2. Kobe

3-5 is muddled and considerably below Wade and Kobe to a point where its not worth debating.

As far as SGs go, it's wade/Kobe changing 1 and 2 spots all the time. Just a testament to how weak the position is now.

Wow never realized until now how bad shooting guards are nowadays.

I considered Monta and Kevin Martin, but they're more like one trick ponies that don't really elevate their teams. The only other guy I see sneaking in that list is Vince Carter but I need a larger sample size of his play in Dallas...

Allen Iverson
Tracy McGrady
Vince Carter
Ray Allen
Brandon Roy
Rip Hamilton
Jerry Stackhouse
Michael Redd

Wow, gone in a flash.

elnono has some homer bias right there...

Manu is not better than Kobe. It's just kind of a fact.

Wait, did I just see T-mac in your list? Troll thread.

Anybody can make their own list, tbh... I'm not claiming mine to be homer bias-free either

Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose should be up there as well.

No Harden?

He's definitely in the up and coming category... Probably needs a few more seasons to establish himself. He's definitely a great player and should be penciled for 6th man award this season, IMO

1. TMac
2. Manu (when injured)
3. Joe Johnson
4. Wade (when not on his period)
5. Eric Gordon
6. Randy Foye
7. Kobe (circa 2003)

Ranking Wade #4 was problematic especially when bloated from his menstrual cycle.

tbh, I understand lakerfan not liking my TMac pick, but right now T-Mac destroys Kobe in 3 pt % and is about even in 2 pt %... The difference is that TMac adjusted his game to being a TOSB, whereas Kobe went on full Iverson volume shooting mode...

Haters gonna hate anyways

At least best Shooting Guard is somewhat arguable. Small Forward and Center have been locked up by the same two players for years.

most great players who're capable of playing SG would prefer to play SF or PG imho, leaving a vacuum at SG. wade is that greatest SG of the league now w/o a doubt, kobe is a distant 2nd place while the rest full-time SGs are nowhere close to them tbh

I understand the fascination with PG, but what makes SF such a glorified position? The chance to play "point forward"?

manu/kobe/monta are the only known names who play SG 100% time imho

The position really took a bad turn the last 2-3 years. Manu keeps getting injured. Roy got hurt and retired. Vince, Rip got old. Ray Allen keeps playing well but he is past his prime. AI went broke. I think Joe Johnson is alright, too many people focus on his overvalued contract.
So it's probably
Kobe
Wade

Joe Johnson
Manu
Harden
Monta

Yeah, but after 1 & 2, nobody gives a flying fuck who is #3,4,5...etc

The position is weaker now than it has been in decades.

I have not seen much from Wade this year to say he is better than Kobe. I wish Kobe would shoot a bit less. But considering Wade has been injured part of the year, this year Kobe's 1st team ALL NBA over Wade will be more deserving than last year when I thought maybe Wade has passed him ...

Probably true. Look at the mid to late 90s during Jordan's last few seasons with the Bulls. Guys were there to emerge like Kobe, Iverson, Penny, Ray Allen, then Vince and T-Mac. And even guys like Eddie Jones and Michael Finley gave the SG position some depth in the league.

Right now, after Kobe and Wade, the SG position looks pretty bad, especially when you look at the younger SGs who should carry the league 5 years down the line. DeMar DeRozen? OJ Mayo? Nick Young? How pathetic the younger SGs are in this league, BR may look like a prophet when Marco Belinelli is a top 3 SG in 5 years.
