More injury updates:

@JMcDonald_SAEN: Pop: Manu, Kawhi out for Chicago. Splitter, Neal (hamstring) are questionable. Ford will dress, may or may not play.

@JMcDonald_SAEN: Apparently, Gary Neal tweaked a hammy vs. Denver and could be limited.

That's pretty good news I guess. Although I didn't realize Kawhi would be out. Thought he'd play.

Sucks about Leonard. I wonder how long we could be looking at without him???

Good to see the guys were able to practice at least. Splitter should be returning soon so that's good news.

Sucks about Neal too. Damn injuries.

I see what Kawhi did. Tell everyone he was fine so he could still travel and be apart of ASW instead of coming home like Tiago.

And more:

@JMcDonald_SAEN: Pop on Manu's status: “He partial-practiced. He just wanted to test it a little bit, see how it’s feeling. He’s not ready to play yet.”

@JMcDonald_SAEN: Pop on Ford, who has missed 24 games: “I think he’s going to dress. He may or may not get in. I’d like to get him a few minutes if I can.”

THE GOOD:
It appears both Splitter and TJ are on the cusp of getting back

THE BAD:
Kawhi is going to be out after all, and now Gary is injured? WTF?!

THE UGLY:

Damn, that's a lot of gimpy players.

With all these hamstring, abdominal and calf strains, gotta wonder if the Mike Brungardt replacement is doing his job. I know it's a symptom of lockout basketball ... but this is getting pretty crazy.

THE GOOD:
RJ, BonBon and Blair are still healthy. On a serious note that makes Anderson the first Sg off the bench, I still believe in him for some reason so I can see a silver linning there, sort of.

THE BAD:
Cojo is the backup PG

THE UGLY:
if TP or Tim get injured we drop off the rankings faster than Denver

Getting to the point they should consider sitting Tony and Tim again. If the chances to win continue to dwindle there's no reason to risk another injury playing them for a lost cause game.

The spurs are actually in the middle of the road among comparing injuries with other NBA teams..Cannot blame these injuries on anyone expect the owners and players themselves. The lockout is the cause and having to play an NBA schedule likes its baseball season....

In the Utah game, Neal went up at the rim, and when he came down one of the Jazz (Millsap maybe?) came down directly on the back of his heel. (Think shopping cart ramming into your Achilles' tendon, but with someone's full body weight behind it.) Neal came up gimpy on that play. He played limited minutes against Portland, even though we were short several players already. He may have tweaked it again against Denver, but it sure looked like it was a continuation of what happened in that Portland game. (I know it says hamstring, but they also said he had a big toe problem in the last game.)

If it is from that play, it isn't a conditioning problem. Not much you can do about a guy landing on your heel.

It may really be time to sign another player just to help weather the injury storm. Seriously, Julian Wright might not be the worst idea ever.

Yea, I know, we need a big man. But right now we need a little of everything with half the roster hurt.

Tomorrow is the last day of Dawson's 10 day contract. It's likely that he'll get another 10 days or that they'll sign a different 10 day player in time for Friday's game v. Charlotte.

Why does this have to happen right before we play Chicago, at home nonetheless? This could have been a great statement W for us. Instead we are going to get smacked. Splitter and Leonard are the key players off our bench Defensively. They make us a different team with their presence. We don't have length without these guys. Hopefully Blair can beast tonight.
