Jesus christ... we gave ourselves a chance against an elite team without Manu among other things. Calm the fuck down with the "we is like last year" bitching, please.

Dumb dumb dumb, last season we would've lost this game by 20. Manu is coming back. I'm sure Splitter and Ford had a little rust. And most of all the star treatment for rose was rediculous. He got a whistle if we even looked at him. While Tony is being thrown on the floor and Neal smacked in the head and we can't get a call.

Some people should be banned from starting threads. We go 8 and 1 on the road trip and we lose a close game without KL or Manu and somehow the sky is falling. Maybe you should switch teams. Go cheer for the Lakers, they have 2 legit bigs but that didn't help them last year either.

El Che is not one to say I told you so. But I told you so.

That being said, Kawhi, Green are still a surprise. We still a decent bigman from being a superior team from last year.

It's just one game, no need to freakout. We played fairly well. Just couldnt stop Rose and Deng's pick and pop game down the stretch. Parker had an off night as well , he usually hits those shots.

I don't know how good will Green and Leonard play in the playoffs, probably worse, we all know Bonner will. Without Dice and with just 4 bigs, plus 2 of them are pathetic, with Manu injured all the time, I would say we are worse then last year. Teams with good frontline will destroy us. Out of all the playoff teams right now I think we got the best chance against OKC, and that won't happen in the 1. round.

I disagree our style of play and defense has definitely changed since last year. I'm glad to see us with so many grind it out close wins winning with defense than last year blowing teams out with 3 bombs. I'm really confident in out guys this year. Also glad to see Tiago scoring so efficiently doWn low and helping with some d nd rebounding down in the paint. Also loving our young new perimeter defenders. This team will be a wayyyy better playoff team than last year.

Team's better than last year. Problem is, there are gonna be better teams in the playoffs. I think the Spurs have what it takes to get out of the first round right now, but any further than that will be extremely tough as is. Team might look completely different with Manu back, and keep in mind Leonard was out, who would've at least kept Deng in check. Parker needed to ball up too. Perhaps the good thing is this game showed that the bigs the team has now will not be enough; should give the FO motivation to find a physical big that isn't undersized.

a bit better this year, but same major flaws (no bigmen, dick, bonner). Problem is heat, bulls, okc are immensely better than last year

If OKC is the team we have the best chance against then call it a first round exit again :rolleyes:lol. I disagree on that being the best matchup, they right now are atop the West.

Basically the same roster. No major star upgrade. No frontline upgrade. No frontline depth. Still too reliant on Bonner and Jefferson.

All the regular season wins are just making next years team weaker with a poorer draft pick.

What annoys me about it is that the rest of the team has to play harder to compensate for the pathetic frontline. TP/Manu was better than Conely/Allen but it didn't matter. We have one of the best backcourts but that advantage is nullified by the frontcourt weakness. If the frontcourt could just hold its own we'd still have a positive advantage.

I've never understood that line of thinking.

Guys making millions every year have to give effort and that bothers you.

Any player who can step his game up on command but doesn't do so unless under pressure is a piece of shit and doesn't deserve to be in the league. These guys should all be playing as hard as they can, always.

Exactly! Honestly I can't believe how much of a beating our PG's were taking every time they went inside. And I can't believe how many calls Rose got. That game was trash. It seems like any time we play the Heat it's even worse. Just let us fuckin compete and let the players decide who wins. Fuck.

Spurs do have a lot of similar match up weaknesses as last year. Especially an unhealthy Spurs squad. We do not want to face against an athletic or big team. And those were the traits that the Grizz excelled at last season. Spurs looked like they were playing in slow motion compared to the Grizz backcourt and the Grizz frontcourt just overpowered and frustrated the Spurs in the paint and at midrange.

Splitter's emergence and Leonard's length may make enough of a difference but the Spurs still need the same old things that they have always needed in the past few seasons: health and another legit big. Still I think the West is a crapshoot and the Spurs have a pretty good chance of reaching the Finals :)

ThaBigFundamental21
03-02-2012, 05:10 PM
Agreed with Cane. We do have Splitter this year, and he actually gets to play. He will help a lot against a team like the Grizz. And Leonard gives us an upgrade over RJ. Lets face it, they are both mediocre on Offense, but Leonard plays D actually. So right there we have added more length. And if Manu is healthy, the whole team really, I think we can win the West. I don't think we can beat the Heat as comprised. If we could get one more god damned big who wasn't shit.......

ThaBigFundamental21

I'm all for trading Blair, and our a couple future first round picks for a big man. Do what it takes. Just don't get some 30 or 31 year old if you are going to give up your future picks. And I know everyone keeps saying hey, we will have cap room next year. That's fine, but Manu, Tim, and Tony will be that much older. The window is fuckin closing. We can't be naive anymore.

I'm trying to figure out why everyone is on Parker's nuts for his "amazing season." The amazing 20 points a game and 8 assists a game. WOW. You act like Parker is going 25 and 9. He played some good games this year when we needed him yes, but lets not be blinded by our love for the Spurs. For every 35 point and 11 assist game there is a 15 and 4 game. We saw our "MVP" against the Bulls and he was awful shooting and passing. And he kept turning the ball over. I'm not dazzled, Parker is what he is, good, inconsistent, and not great.

Big difference from last year: this year we're getting better, not worse, as the season wears on. The defence has improved drastically in the past 15 games, the offense is already elite with Manu still to come back, and we have a bunch of players who can go off on any given night. We're no lock, but I like our chances to get to the WCFs this year if the D keeps improving.

I am not worried about Parker and playing Splitter and Kawhi make us a better team then last year. My issue are with Manu can he get healthy to make a difference? And then RJ, Anderson, and Blair....We need another big!
