Last night against the Bulls, it was evident that we need another big man. Why not go for Chris Kaman ? He's 30 years old, 7ft and would be good for us, the type of player we need to help out Duncan.

Chris' last 3 game:

Vs Toronto - 17pts, 2 blks, 1ast, 10rb, 6-14.
Vs Chicago - 17pts, 1blk, 5ast, 11rb, 7-18.
Vs Cleveland - 21pts, 2blks, 3ast, 13rb, 10-25.

I'm not that good with how the NBA works with trades, but would we be able to give New Orleans RJ and get Kaman as a straight swap ? we all know how bad RJ is and getting another big man here would be great.

He's more injury prone than Ginobili

Like Ginobili, it seems when healthy he puts up great numbers. :lol

I hope, that whoever over at ESPN, that invented the NBA trade machine, is in prison now.

It now seems things have changed. ESPN's Chris Broussard reports the price for Kaman has come down greatly in the last month.

"Kaman will almost certainly be moved. New Orleans has no use for him and simply wants to get something -- even if it's just a second-round draft pick -- for him, according to sources. A month ago, when the Hornets told Kaman to stay home and wait to be traded, they were asking for a young player, a draft pick and an expiring contract. Now, their aspirations aren't so lofty. Golden State, Houston and Miami have interest in Kaman."

I would like to add Kaman but not if it costs us a good, young piece.

And in response to the OP: I believe RJ for Kaman would work, technically, but there is ABSOLUTELY no way New Orleans trades a guy getting paid about 10 mil in the LAST year of his contract for a guy getting paid 10 mil a year for the next two years....especially when that guy is the astonishingly overpaid Richard Jefferson. Just doesnt make sense. Then add in the fact that to get anywhere near matching those last three games you posted stats for we would have to select RJ's best three individual games over the course of the whole season, and RJ has been healthy all year.

That said, I still like this info. Problem is wouldn't we have to match salaries? Or do we have a trade exception? Even if we did, picking up Kaman would put us waaaay over the cap without RJ involved.

If the FO is willing to spend, AND if we had a trade exception, AND if N.O. really is looking to get anything I would loooove to put Anderson and even a second rounder out there for him. JA is young, which they want, and is supposed to be good at scoring the ball, which they need.

Regardless, probably a pipe dream.

Now go look at his FG% and STFU. Over his last 6 games he's shot 38%. No kidding...

He's been a stat whore, Kobe style. NO is force feeding him to showcase him for a trade with inflated stats.

Kaman has always been one of the most overrated players in the NBA..he struggles against players his own size..

However, he'd obviously be a dramatic upgrade over Blair and Bonner..so if a realistic opportunity arises, it would obviously be a quality addition..

The only way we'd get him in a trade is with either RJ or one of the big 3. But Kaman is an expiring contract, and I don't know who would want to take on several more years of over-price RJ instead of just having cap space this off season.

No, frankly, the only way we'll sniff him is if he gets bought out.
