I got Dusty Springfield singin' wishin' & hopin' for the Mavs.

I absolutely detest the Spurs.

What seed would the Mavs be? If it's 8, I think I got Mavs in 6

Right NOW, prolly the Spurs.

One of the biggest problems SA potentially faced was the mid-season Odom trade. SA couldn't guard Dirk (who can?) and always had a pretty tough time guarding another player w/ a similar height/skill-set as Dirk in Lamar. The thought of battling both of them in a 7-gm series was terrifying. Now, w/ Odom MIA and the rest of the team seemingly frazzled, they're not as scary.

Granted, DAL in early March isn't going to be the SAME DAL in late April, so this hypothetical is even more pointless than your USUAL hypothetical NBA Forum debate.

Spurs would let Dirk get his and challenge the rest of the team to step up. Same formula that usually works. Dallas lost their depth with Spurs killers Barrea and Butler. Also no TC, I got Spurs in 5 with a healthy big 3.

Right now: Spurs in 7
Potential with Manu: Spurs in 6

Oh, nice. Well I'll still have to see him in extended action to change my current opinion

Dude it would be a sweep.

Mavs cant even beat the second worst team in the league, what makes you think they can beat a ballin Spurs team right now?

Well, lets hear it then.

Take in mind you said "right now."

Please do tell how mavs can even contend.

Spurs would kill us.

But then again, the playoffs don't start today, now do they?

All those players played in 2010 when the Spurs beat the Mavs in the playoffs.

Didn't RJ play a big role in the 2010 series win? I know he's been shit since then but when playing the Mavs he goes off. Must have something to do with playing against Kidd.

Sadly that was RJ's best year as a Spur and Blair's as well. Bonner has somewhat improved on not sucking so much, but we all know he will fold in crunch time.

Considering Lebeta chokes in crunch time too it's understandable. As long as he finds a way to produce some offense, get rebounds against other scrubs, and plays adequate D I'll be happy. Spurs have others who can step up when they need it.

Manu will be back for a couple games before he's out again with a sprained ankle or a broken back.

Mavs IMO. Although it might be the most favorable matchup for the Spurs when it comes to hiding the lack of useful bigs.

Depends if Parker can keep it up. It'll be a Dirk vs Manu series once again, with barely any help from either side. Spurs if they have HCA imo.

Besides Spurs vs Lakers western matchup I most wanna see. Truest west rivalry with playoff wins on both sides and now rings on both. Question is can Lenard or Tiago guard Dirk?

Muser
03-04-2012, 11:11 AM
Tiago didn't do badly against Dirk last time they played but that was when Dirk was blowing dick anyway so idk. I'll say Spurs in 6.

Who can?

Odom is the only one with a good track record defending him, but that's before marrying the pig and having a TV show.

Heard this so often but Dirk scored easily against the Lakers i think. Anyone with a link of how Odom was defending Dirk?
