How do you give up on a Spurs team after Memorial Day 1999?

How do you give up with the Spurs tied in a series and possessing the homecourt advantage?

How do you give up on a Spurs team with Tim Duncan?

How do you give up on a Spurs team with Robert Horry?

Actually, while we are apologizing, I'd like to retract some statements myself that were said in the Heat of the moment :)

Seriously, I was with T-Park, Nikos and the other bandwagnors on this one. I was cursing up a storm, calling Spurs chokers, and even hating on TONY PARKER after the last game. I was seriously thinking of giving up basketball next season, win or lose, simply because I didn't know if I could handle the stress that comes with being a basetkball fan of a championship contender team. You always want ur team to win, and when they choke or have bad games like the SPurs did, not playing to their potential, you just want to throw in the towel along with them.

I have to say, I have learned a lesson. You should never ever give up on your team. The finals are not only where legends are born, but miracles, Just take a look at SPurs Game 5 last year vs Game 5 this year. Two miracles of equal magnitude, one in our favor, the other not. Game 5 reminded me why I became a basketball fan. Even if the Spurs lose this series, I can honestly say that it was worth it, just after getting all the excitement of watching the game.

(It would help if they win it all, however:))

Anyways, I will try not to go Aggie Hoopsfan on everyone next time and jump off the bandwagon blaming Pop, Parker, and/or 4 down again!

1Parker, I never lost my confidence, did I? I told you not to jump ship.

It was definitely Mouse who started it but it's funny so...

Who gives up on the team when the series is tied? I could understand the Spurs going down 0-3 and some of you calling it quits. You don't jump ship until it sinks.

what is this shit about hating ur team and promising to leave if they win, and stay if they lose. You need some psychological help dude
