This is the fact .since melo returned the kincks look totally different from that knicks( from 4th Feb to the end of Feb) without Carmelo . Melo has been playing like what he used to play in Denver . It seems that the Chemistry between Melo and Lin can not successfully be made. the fact has also been told by that the team is better under Lin's system which is like 2005-2008 Phoenix Suns. and yes the Lansanity can't probably lead the knicks to championship. but at least the knicks would have a better record in regular season and been a tough match-up for any playoffs team

Exactly

But unfortunately Mike D' Antoni won't let a player who gets 20 millions a year to come off the bench

Stats can tell:
Lin with bench 8-1
Melo+Lin 2-4

I would trade one of them.

Trade the expensive one, tbh.

Additionally, Marshmellow has silenced the enthusiastic, boisterous cheering crowd at MSG.

it was funny to hear the spanish guys talk about the knicks the darling of the nba. a few quotes:

"look at D'antoni's face, he looks like he's gona cry"

"did melo just cower himself instead of going for the block?"

"Amare never averaged double digits rebounding for any year in his career. You know something true superstars would do"

"JR doing what he does best, shooting"

"Lin is averaging good numbers for a good player. But if he averaged what he did his first 6 games, we'd be talking about a superstar. Clearly, he's not that"

"Chandler is the MVP of this knick team by far"

"Carmelo does some really dumb mistakes"

"Amare doesn't go for blocks"

That would be the best news for the Knicks if they really use their amnesty provision to cut Melo. man 20 millions is enough to sign 2 all stars

Melo coming off the bench is an outrageous thought.

Lin is having his own problems, that aside from working with Melo. Teams already have enough video to study and know Lin's tactics.

Knicks have too many shooters, albeit mediocre ones imo.

Put Melo up for the highest bidder and take the best offer. Give Lin the keys to the offense and surround him with shooters (mix in P-N-R w/Amare) and D'Antoni will feel like he's back in Phoenix.

Plenty of regular season success for ESPN to build the hype all the year, but they'll never get passed Miami or Chicago (2 teams who play defense) in the playoffs. Probably not the C's either...

It's also true that since Melo returned the Knicks have had a more difficult schedule.

Something that definitely needs to be considered. The recent losses included Miami, Boston, Dallas, and San Antonio all on the road. Probably only the Boston game would have been winnable without Melo, and that game was a close overtime loss with Melo.

They're not America's team anymore and they definitely have some work to do trying to get everybody on the same page. But also have to give them some time to try to work things out, especially against some of the lesser teams. If they start losing games to teams like Milwaukee, Toronto, Detroit in their upcoming schedule, I think that would be more telling on the Lin-Melo relationship and team chemistry.

melo + chandler for dwight + turkoglu. best thing to do for both teams.

amare can shoot all the jump shots he wants now that dwight will control the paint and boards. magic buys some time and wait for the right chance to trade chandler and melo for better assets.
