What are you going to do? Mo was hitting contested 3s. You want them taking those. When they fall, you deal with it and move on. We did it to the Heat last year before they did it to us, then they did it to us again this year.

Every team gets shit on by the 3 at some point.

contested 3s ? yeah some on his 9 attempts were contested... for the rest D has been bad very bad this game.

Damn, wish we took advantage of OKC's loss.

Anderson needs to be back in the rotation, Green is worthless.

All I care about is having the 2nd seed, being healthy.

and manu is god, we won tough games w/o him.

clipps played w/o Martin and billups is out for the season.

we didn't loose because of TP not playing we lost because we let the clipps loading 120 pts at 53% FG

I already agreed on that. But how different would the D have been if TP was tiring out CP3 at both ends?

Agree. The D has been bad the whole season. There's no sign of a improvement. More time for Tiago and Kawhi would help but Pop keep trusting in guys that failed every season in the playoffs (Blair, Bonner and Jefferson)

Not true. There have been stretches where it's been excellent, .ike the 15 game stretch we held opposition teams to 42% shooting. Unfortunately, we've regressed recently.

LJ, Pop gonna throw the soft card out tonight?

Good call. He may well.

For the record, I never said the season was over. I still think we'll somehow address our weaknesses at the trade deadline. Hopefully this stretch of bad games will convince our front office to make a move although I don't see what move can put them over the top.

I just don't like how this team seems to be going backwards defensively again.

I was generalising.

You're very optimistic to believe we'll address our needs at the deadline, I hope you're right.

I think this game will act as a wake-up call to the team about their D. Watch for improvement in the next few games.

Spurs have been flat out awful since the RRT at home an no matter how you slice it, their level of play on both ends is alarming. Luckily Tim and Manu look healthy (although TP is now missing games due to injury).

agree

TO many softies on this team in Bonner, Blair, and RJ. 1 on the roster you can probebly get by with but with 3, just forget it .

There's no dodging this, anyway you look at it, shor-term or long term. The 3 of 'em are a toxic combo that even a healthy big 3 cannot overcome.

:lol For once, RJ wasn't the worst player on the floor tonight. That's an accomplishment for him.

There isn't much time left to "tighten" up the defense in all honesty. Pop's idea of playoff rotation is starting Neal (more offense, less defense) over Green and keeping RJ in. Not to mention choking Bonner continuing to see crunch time minutes.

One way to tighten the defense is to hide the worst defenders on the bench. That way the starting unit can set a defensive tone for the game. The bench guys can then blow open games with their offense.

That, sir, is an absolute fact. It's not going to happen. And even if the Spurs could land a decent big, this late in the game it's not going to make the team anywhere near good on the defensive end.

I don't know how many players have had their season high against the Spurs this season, but it's a lot. A couple of times could be a fluke. But when it just keeps happening, it's because the defense really does suck. They need help in the middle, and the perimeter opens up. If they stay home on the perimeter shooters, they get killed in the middle. Just not enough horses to get the job done.

And, yeah, the Matt Bonner Show in the 4th took them right out of any rhythm they had.

Watching the Duncan era slowly end with Matt Bonner bricking three after three is depressing as fuck

I just don't get it, why does RJ continue to get more PT over Kawhi, while Blair gets more PT than Tiago. inspite of the 2 younger players getting more production in less time. This is absurd

RJ has an expensive contract. Might as well make it worth it.

Blair fits better with Timmy than Tiago.

That's as far as I know. I don't agree with it either.

Exactly. Till the Spurs fix that weakness inside they're going to have to give 110+% every night to have a chance in the playoffs. They have to help inside and then cover the perimeter players with their B-level athleticism. Even with good athletes it would be tough.
