Eddie Murphy never made a decent movie outside of 48 hours and BHC. That's a fact. Harlem Nights was good, but not because of Eddie.

Crazy how Beverly hills cop was so good and everything else sucked. Something changed Eddie Murphy.

I don't think Eddie ever did drugs onaccounta the Rick James stories Charlie Murphy told on Chapelle show. I think Eddie was straight edge

Life was good because it was a serious movie. None of that weak comedy movies he's always making.

Trading Places

No doubt.

You guys are short selling EM.

Nothing was as good as TP, BHC, and 48H but Golden Child, Nutty Professor, Daddy Day Care. These were all OK.

All of his movies from 1990 on have been pretty bad with the exception of a couple. Most of his 80's movies were very solid.

Coming to America is probably a top 5 comedy for me.

The critics hate it, and so do audiences. It took four years to be released. That's really all you need to know.

I don't know, what about these:

Dr. Dolittle (didn't see #2)
The Nutty Professor
The Distinguished Gentleman
Coming to America
Trading Places
Beverly Hills Cop trilogy

The Distinguished Gentleman and Trading Places are among my favorite moves.

Paid off critics are ass lickers whom i give zero heed to.
Yahoo Users has it at 3.5/5 starts
Tomatoes has 61% giving it a 3.5 or higher.

So while it may indeed suck, the Users are not bashing it that badly.

Were the critics paid off to dislike this movie? Or the million other shitty movies Eddie Murphy has released in the last decade? This movie took four years to be released.

Actually, never mind. If you are actually considering going to see this movie, then it might be right up your alley.

:lol So? I haven't seen Gigli, but I take the word of others who say that it is horrible. I mean, you started a thread just to find out what others think about the movie, so what is your point?

The last Eddie Murphy movie I saw was Meet Dave, and it was terrible. He's been starring in flops for years now. What is it about this movie that makes you even think about watching it?

I'd like to hear from those who have seen A Thousand Words. I've no objection to all the weigh ins, just that none of you has actually seen it. Yes, i agree it may well suck but I'd still like to hear from someone who sees it. If no one in SpursTalk Universe ends up seeing it, i will accept that.

I consider Shallow Hal to be one of the best dramadies re shallowness and related towards overweighties even made. Yet Hollywood Ass Critics barely passed it, like 51% to 49% on the Tomatoe meeter.

There's a difference between 51% of a group liking a movie and 0% liking a movie. Of course people disagree with critics, so you liking a movie that wasn't well received just shows that people have different opinions.

And I'll ask again: why do you even want to know what people think about this movie, when Eddie Murphy hasn't been good in years?

Ya i agree when 0% of the Asscritic crowd doesn't like it, something is up.

A well meaning friend brought Meet Dave over when i was home ill. She liked it. I actually thought it was passable. Norbit ended up sucking badly, but for a while it was okay. I kind of liked the one with Steve Martin where he is a celebritard and then plays double as his brother. So i was just wondering if A Thousand Words had any potential whatsoever.
