Winston was making too much money and Leinart was...Leinart. They still have to re-sign Myers and Duane Brown will be due for a raise soon. Both are much more important that Winston.

Guess the Texans are thinking more of the latter than the former. He ranked as a top-6 right tackle according to Pro Football Focus. Hopefully they can get similar production at a fraction of the cost.

From some of the stuff I've been reading the Texans are in cap hell right now and that's why all the cuts are being made. Hopefully they can at least salvage Myers. Losing Winston is one thing but losing Myers would suck bigtime balls.
