Rip looks like he's from the movie "Alien" in that pic, possibly stealing that nickname from Sam Cassell. :lol

TP was clutch on that defense, it got lost in the BSRob theatrics.

No I mean it...The ball handler has a right to move toward the basket & using your neck & throat to impede his forward progress is a technical I think... :smokin

rip was all over tony, pushing him and ripping at him during those last mins.....

I'm surprised he was brave enough to have his throaght anywhere near rips elbow.

nad damn.. poor rip's elbow must hurt like hell today.... after making such harsh contact with a neck. damn. I know that'd leave me sore for days.

Only when they're not attached to the rest of the defender.

The worst thing is that if that shot had gone the Spurs would've been SOL.

Hypothetical question... Say Tony flips out and shoves Rip after time runs out. Can they call a technical when the game is over?

I hope not. But since in your scenario it's a Spurs player commiting.. I thin kthey would call a T. Cause we are the ref's bitches that way. :drunk

Rip's shot may be affected in Game 6 from Parker's massive throat blow to the elbow... :lol

I would like to see Tony Parker put Rip Hamilton on his ass and slide him across the court. DURING THE GAME. Even if he got a T, it would be worth it. I like Hamilton, but he's gotten away with murder in this series, especially games 3 and 4. I'd just like to see Tony clean the floor with him for once. I'd like to see Bruce REALLY get "crafty" with Rip, once, too. Show him what "crafty" means, baby. We can take our punishment

That was such an obvious foul. If it had gone in, it would have been one of the biggest non-calls in NBA Finals history.

You are so fucking stupid if you don't get the sarcasm in that...

I'd be pissed if he accused him of bad shooting or something that parker obviously is... but parker has never been mentioned as a dirty player...

Wtf would get a fan mad about this? He's obviously Mocking the Detroit Fans who said RIP got fouled...

Wow you are stupid.

LOL. Me and my friends started calling Cassell "Roswell" back when he played for the bucks. But I agree the pic makes Hamilton look horrific.

I said this before but think it's worth repeating: that play was a textbook example of why NOT to flop.

If TP flops on that play, there's no call and Rip has a clear shot at a game-winner.

Best defensive play of the year, or damn near close.

Agreed. Which means Manu and Tony both had huge plays to win last night.

Manu had the sweet assist to Big Shot Rob. And Tony played great D against Rip (of course, Bowen on Billups helped force Rip to try that shot).

All in all, great Teamwork by the Spurs.

Tony's body-ing up and hands straight up defense of Richard mirrors EXACTLY what Jason did on the last play vs Pistons in the 2003 ECF to kill the Pistons last second shot and win the EC.

I can't remember which Piston tried to take that shot, but that was the series where Tayshaun emerged, as a rookie, as a full-fledged NBA playoff clutch player.

I have always said that RIP Hamilton can't shoot off the dribble. His ball handling skills are horrible and is only a set shooter. He can't create his own shot. That is why he missed so bad. He had a guy about 4 inches shorter than him and he still couldn't shoot over him. Why? Because Parker made him dribble the ball. Good job on Parker's side.

I personally thought his dirtiest play was when he used his face to hit Billup's elbow!! At least the refs called it a foul but it could have easily been called a flagrant on Tony. What was he thinking using is face in such a viscious manner?

Whew!!! If Rip would've kept his cool, he might've been able to make that shot. But, I think TP played good defense!!
