I like Jerry Sloan

Cal is a very little structure, hands-off type of coach who's more of a motivator/recruiter than developer or tactician as a coach.
Not sure he's a great fit for a team that just finished leaving footprints all over their previous coach of a similar ilk.

I like the Sloan call. Lin/Amare pic-n-roll would be revitalized.

Slon's system might be a better fit for the Knicks than Phil's.

No way Phil Jackson…Phil has had heart surgery, back and hip problems…Traveling is both stressful and painful for the Zen Master…Phil is retired unless the job offer is a cushy management position for 10 million per year…
Sloan couldn't get it done in Utah, got run out by a fucking PG. I don't see him being the bellwether in NY against Melo and Amare, especially with that crowd.
JVG is also too weak to fill that role.
Phil is the only one who could get those clowns to act like a team, but he wouldn't stick around if they didn't win it all this year.
It would be a good job for Doc Rivers were he not already occupied. It would also be funny to see Terry Porter get that job.
The NY fans will turn against Melo in a heartbeat, and unless he comes around, he might as well ship off elsewhere.

If I'm the Knicks I make a strong run at Nate McMillen.

I'd say Alvan Gentry given he's the one coach who's ever managed to get Amare Stoudemire playing defense and rebounding.

And yeah Sloan would be a horrible fit given that he's a glorified Mike D'antoni.
