Fi-nally... The Ghost... has come back... to Spu-u-u-u-u-urs Talk.

You can't imagine how delighted I am that the Spurs finally rid themselves of that soft, overpaid and ineffective Richard Jefferson and brought my main man Captain Jack back where he belongs.

Anyone worried about S-Jax's attitude needs to know that this guy is cool as a cucumber as long as he can contend and compete.

This is a great day for Spurs fans.

Finally, the front office shows some b@lls, too.

I think that the NBA is sleeping on San Antonio.

But, quite frankly, no one is fvcking with us at full strength.

And anyone that knows me, knows that I ain't no homer.

And I think this team has one more run at it this season.

Let's get it.

P.S.

How have you all you been? Hope everyone is happy and healthy.
I been leanin' and rockin'. Two kids now. Still married somehow. Do the daily grind. And dominating every day.
I still love the Spurs more than ever. Have to admit that I'm not feeling the passion from others where I live in CT or on Twitter.

Yeah, the problem isn't thinking too highly of what Jack is now, it's thinking too highly of what he was when he was with the Spurs. He's become a far better player since then. The danger before was that he was an immature headcase, at least now he's mature, though he could still be a headcase. The danger before was that he didn't realize how good he had it with the Spurs. He should know that now. The danger before was that he would take a bad shot or try to do too much. Yep, that's still a concern, but that maturity thing might help.

If he wants to win, this is the place for him to contribute to that. Let's hope he makes the most of the opportunity.

If you take the guy by a twitter post, which IMO is like taking someone at a message board fight threat, "Back home where I belong" You'd like to think that he sees this as an opportunity.

I may be looking at it through rose colored glasses but I think, if hes playing like he can, Manu Parker Duncan Jax SPlitter are enough to cover up for Blair and Bonner.

I'm definitely looking at it through rose colored glasses. Old-school, dunking-on-Deke, Malik Rose colored glasses. I freely admit that. That's sort of irrelevant. Jackson has been a good player who can score a lot of points THIS SEASON, and we saw it firsthand. This isn't pre- and post-injury Antonio McDyess we're talking about here; other than being a few years older he's physically the same player he was when he left, he's just a lot better.

Agreed. I think people overvalue numbers and way overrate his bad attitude with bad clubs. Which is exactly what I said to 48 MOH but they countered with if he was so great a person and player he would've over came that adversity. The only counter to it is, he's just not wired that way. he needs structure, he needs guidance. To pen a Ron Washington phrase, thats just how Stephen Jackson go.

Agreed. 2003 SJax was an extremely fun player to root for but it wasn't because he was a great player. If you factor in the highs and lows, 2003 SJax was an overall neutral force. But you could count on him to keep playing at his normal level no matter the situation. When it comes to winning pressure-packed games, that's an invaluable trait. All it takes is an ounce of fear to derail an otherwise great team.

Whottt used to make a great argument in Jax's defense for his bad series vs the Lakers, was due to Phil Jackson being scared to death by him.

He was great vs Phoenix, bad vs LA, OK to good vs Dallas, and mediocre until game 6 vs New Jersey.

Its the Speedy syndrome. You only remember the highs, but don't remember the lows.

You only remember the highs, but don't remember the lows.

Which is why people should take sample size into consideration when it comes to playoff basketball.

But that would be the wise thing to do, so that's obviously hard to do.

My biggest knock on RJ wasn't his stats, it was his statlines. He was just as likely to score 20 as he was to score 2. Average is nice, but it doesn't help you in the playoffs. Jack could really be this year's Glenn Robinson, who never put up big numbers as a Spur, but always seemed to put up the most important numbers at the most important times. How big an upgrade is it now?
