View Full Version : Is there any possibility that Timmy to sign with other teams?

It is extremely hard for us to imagine Duncan to wear another jersey. without a doubt. there are a lot of teams will surely offer Timmy a big contract in the summer although he is turning to 37 years old next season. as timvp 's thread mentioned the spurs will begin the negotiations of Duncan's new contract at around $11-12 million in terms of of his value. so i just wonder is there any possibility that Tim to sign with other teams?what if a team who offer Duncan 20 M per year?

I really hope that Timmy will retire as a spur. hopefully the spurs will be the only team to his career.

My guess is that the new contract has already been negotiated. No one would really offer the 2012 Tim a contract of $20M per year.

Any? Sure. Unlikely though.

BTW, I wonder if Duncan is repping himself? His former agent is now the President/
BBO in PHO.

I really doubt Duncan would leave after this much success with the Spurs, especially after we have been doing everything we can to keep the team in contention just for him..

I don't think so. He seems to like stability and winning! Why switch teams when your team is doing, and has done well in the past? We can't we'em all and it's hard to win a title, so all things considered, he's a Spur for life! He can get a seat next to D-Rob when he's done and catch a few games of Kawhi, Neal, Green, and Parker!

TD will retire as a SPUR

If he did, he would automatically lose four levels and the ability to attack with both hands equally well. I don't think he'd risk it.

If Tim was going to leave, he would have gone to Orlando with G. Hill a LONG time ago.

if he wants more then 12 million a year he can go to another team

Tbh, if he gets lowballed by the Spurs and the Heat don't win the championship this year, Duncan at least has to ponder that situation, tbh.

I think they've learned that lesson.

TD's got to demand some accountability from the FO. He should demand they replace Bonner/Blair with some decent bigs. In fact I think he might be willing to accept less if they did. He took a paycut last time and the Spurs didn't use that money to get some frontcourt help. Instead they got RJ and an over the hill Dice.

Tim will be given one year deals at $10-12 mil per until he wants to retire. Better than the $25 mil he is making this year.

Very interesting his agent is now directing the suns...... ... .. . I wouldn't say its completely out of the realm of possibility if things did go south this year in SA that he could wind up over there as a phoenix sun.

I know it is hard for us to accept it, but Duncan might take his talents to the South Beach and join the Miami Heat.

I see Duncan as somebody who is extremely loyal. If things don't work out with the Spurs, which would in itself be very surprising, I see him as more likely to retire than go elsewhere.

If the Magic hadn't outlawed Tim Duncan's wife from flying on their charter jet, Duncan probably signs in Orlando, tbh.

My guess is that Duncan will never play for another team.
And I guessed that George Gervin would have retired as a Spur, Dominique Wilkins as a Hawk, Karl Malone on the Jazz, Hakeem Olajuwon as a Rocket, Patrick Ewing as a Knick, Michael Jordan as a Bull, Willie Mays as a Giant, Harmon Killebrew as a Twin, Wayne Gretzky as an Oiler, Gordy Howe as a Red Wing, Joe Montana as a 49er, and Peyton Manning as a Colt.

A few years back TD was being courted heavily by the magic, and that was one of the things that was asked the coach at the time absolutely forbade wives and girlfriends.

Yes but how many billion years ago was that? The window for him to leave to another franchise has closed, same for TP and Manu as well. They are all going to retire as Spurs, and I'll celebrate each of their last games and jersey retirement ceremonies (and HoF inductions too).

Part of why I like the Spurs is because they'll have 4 HoF players playing their whole career for one franchise.

Duncan and Pop are going to ride into the sunset together as Spurs as simple as that...

0% chance he goes somewhere. Especially after hearing that Jack interview where Pop and RC "handed the phone to Duncan". This guy has a say in every move the Spurs do here. He's practically Player/Assistant GM.

Former agent. You can't work in one front office and continue to be an agent.
