Derek Fisher has officially reached agreement with Rockets to be bought out. Even though we are getting Mills, do we make room for him ?

He can't sign with LA

We aren't signing him. He can't play D, he can't score, and he is a bad passer, always has been. We have our back up. We don't need a 37 year old has been.

I guess if Mills is strictly for the Toros, the Spurs might consider Fisher. But it's unlikely. You don't give Mills as much money as the Spurs did if you don't think he can at least be the third point guard behind Neal.

No please no.

0.4 seconds and people think he is Mr. clutch when in fact he was Kobe's psychiatrist.

please no.

This. . . he handled the trade to Houston so unprofessionally that ill be surprised if any team goes after him. we signed we have neal, patty, tp, and manu. No need for fisher's corpse. No D, no ball handling skills, no rebounding, we have bonner to fill those shoes

He really just needs to retire, imo.

He seemed like such a die-hard LA lover that I'll be surprised if he doesn't.

If we hadn't signed Mills I'd say sure, why not/

We have, so I'm saying hell no.

The Mills signing makes it unlikely Spurs are interested in him. The reciprocity may be true too. I don't know exactly why Fisher didn't want at all to play for Rockets but theses reasons could apply to Spurs too.

Because he only ever wanted to play for LA.

He can't play in LA this year. Rules.

I think Elmers might pick him up to be a "glue guy"...

He wants to win... and at his age it makes sense that he wouldn't want to play for the Rockets... he's obviously going to a contender.

This.

That shit he pulled to get out of his contract in Utah (as though LA is the center of the oncological universe) was his Summa Shittologica.

Ironic, too, since he was traded to Houston, which may just be the center of the oncological universe.

Miami seems like a good destination for Fisher. They are the best team in the league and they are a little thin at PG with rookie Norris Cole now struggling after a great first half of the season.

We have enough gritty veterans who are considered clutch, we just needed a decent PG who can fill in the backup role and that's what Patrick Mills is for.

:lmao True, I never thought of that when considering the complication of Fisher's daughter.

I think alot of people, especially people here in SA, have always thought that.

I think you are 100% right.....it was a sham.....they also gave him special treatment cuz the CBA was coming up.

Fisher was always a jackass on and off the court. He knew early on wearing the purple and piss uniform was his ticket to fortune and fame. It's no coincidence that two of the years he almost averaged 3 fouls a game (by far tops in his career) was when he was toiling in GSW & Utah. No wonder he wanted to get the fuck back to LA ASAP. :rollin

Rockets' buyout of Fisher paid him for rest of this season, but he opted out of all $3.4 million next yr, person with knowledge of deal said.

Fish really didn't want to play in Houston. Bargain price for a first round draft pick for the Rox.

Well, I like to think that I'm objective. Absent of emotion and have the ability to make decisions based on the merit of the opportunity. That can be difficult as fans as evidence on just about every board on here....

But I would have to agree w/ the masses. DFish can provide merely vet leadership at this point in his career. That leadership was great in LA and possibly could be elsewhere but is not what SA needs. He offers very little to actually being a hinderence in terms of basketball skill/talent and production.

So - with as much objectivity as I can muster: No.

Rockets pay $200K for a first round pick.

Warriors paid $12 million for a first round pick.
