Kobe's shooting percentage dropped to an all time low after tonights game (41%). He's been shooting 26% for the past 8 games this month (70/261)

Amazingly, the Lakers are 5-3 in this stretch. Reason? Bynum is beasting shooting with averages of 67%FG 25.6ppg 12.8 rpg 2.2 bpg.


Kobe needs to play a familiar role similar to that in 99-03 if he wants a 6th championship.

Well, Bynum IMO is playing like a 1B to Kobe's 1A this season. What I mean by that is Kobe needs to play more of a facilitator role similar to his role during their three peat era. Kobe's shooting too much for the Lakers to be successful. Its one thing if he's at least hitting his 45% average but he's hitting an all time low this season in percentage.

It's okay if he was 3 for 20 from the field. However, he had to turn the ball 7 times too. He has to be the worst player on the court for this game, no question about it.

Kobe obviously saw the efficient shooting by Pau and Bynum and knew the law of averages was about to kick in so he didn't want either of them to ruin such efficient performances and he took the hit in shooting numbers. What a great leader to bite the bullet for his teammates. I suspect he wanted his teammates to use the extremely efficient shooting performances as a confidence boost for the rest of the year.
