Just a notch above warm body insurance from the D-League.

Tall, athletic. Spurs will pass.

I wouldn't even think it's a possibility ... but then again, he fits Francisco Elson's profile before the Spurs signed him: No basketball skills but fast, athletic and had a couple good games against the Spurs.

Hollins is a horrible rebounding version of Elson. He's better than Dawson but he has basically no upside and the Spurs players hated him after his antics while with the Mavs.

This bozo has no discernible basketball skills...pass

You need that edge. Spurs have become too soft. Especially in the frontcourt. The frontcourt is generally where you have your enforcer types.

I'd say it's worth the look. Honestly I look back at the Grizzlies series, and I think it's less about skill and rebounding, and more about pure size. The fact that he's an athletic 7 footer, that intrigues me. For that reason alone you put him on a guy like Zach Randolph who torched us last year, and he's a better fit than a Bonner of Blair.

Yeah...I can never forgive that guy after the way he carried himself in that Spurs-Mavs series. Eff him, hope he ends up a D-League lifer...

The Spurs are going to end up with a 20 man roster at this pace.

I was about to comment about how he actually hates Matt Bonner in real life but I think that's David Harrison right?

Yeah wasn't David Harrison the one that threatened to kill Matt Bonner for a hard foul or something?

Harrison just started a comeback in the Dleague. Maybe someone can start a Harrison thread.

Okay I looked it up, it was Harrison :lol

The article isn't there anymore but a simple "David Harrison Matt Bonner" search pulls up the incident.

The Celtics are expected to make a "strong push" for recently waived center Ryan Hollins.
Boston needs size in the worst way and Hollins is a legit seven-footer that the Celtics can plug in right away. We speculated yesterday that he could wind up with the Celtics, and it sounds like the team plans to investigate the possibility of adding him fairly thoroughly. The Celtics have also been linked to free agent Kyrylo Fesenko. Mar 21 - 8:52 AM

It's like the Spurs have something against athletic bigs. It's harder to get a big with high IQ than a guard or swing. Yet it might make sense to just get one and work on improving his IQ with good coaching. Does Pop not believe in his coaching?

Boston is in a desperate situation. Their bench at PF/C is Greg Stiemsma and JaJuan Johnson. At that stage, they would go for anyone who can walk and who is over 6'8". Hollins fit that description.
