Losing Chandler hurt them a great deal. Not against us so far, but overall.

Damn, Stephen Jackson sounded good in the post game interview. He's not even like the same guy I've seen for a bunch of years. I've never questioned his ability on the court, but the guy in this interview didn't look like someone who you have to worry about going off the reservation. And to the people who said that would happen - I was wrong.

This team is so much better as a result of that trade.

Beasley or Tolliver? I personally enjoy Tolliver's reaction more, he just nods all nonchalant after Beasley apologizes.:downspin:

Concerning the game, I'm disappointed Splitter didn't play better with Bonner out. He had a weak offensive game against a team that was missing it's two best bigman defenders, yet he still shot worse than 50%. Plus, he fouled too much, otherwise he would have been able to play more minutes... probably. Pop was fine playing small ball, and with KL I don't blame him.

It's interesting. Jax really didn't want to be in Milwaukee and was demanding a contract extension. Now all of a sudden he's willing to accept any role and is on his best behavior.

Jax a smarter guy than people might think. He knows the only way he has a chance to stay here long term is to fall in line with everybody else and perform on the court. If that doesn't happen he will just end up on another lottery team with nothing to play for. He seems very motivated to keep that from happening. That's what made this trade so good.

Lol Love being the first word of the sentence made me immediately think you were referring to Kevin, so I had no clue what you were talking about.:lol

Got it now.

And GSH, I'm waiting for a thread showing how much better SJax has been in his first 2 games with a new team, compared to RJs first 2 with a new team. SJax might have the advantage of playing with an old coach plus 3 old teammates, but whatever.

What did Jax say

This is the interview. Part of it was what he said, but the big thing was that he was all business and no bluster. Someone above said Jackson is smarter than he gets credit for. He sure made a case for that in this interview.

Spurs forward Stephen Jackson:

(On first game back in this arena…)

“We won. That’s what I am all about. I am glad to be here on a team that wins. It feels good to finally get back on the court and get this first home game out of the way. I did not have too many jitters because I have been doing this for a long time. To be able to get out there and win this game is great.”

(On shooting his 3-point shots)

“A lot of those shots just came through the offense and gave me wide-open looks. We practice this everyday and these are the shots we are going to get with this offense. We just need to knock them down.”

(On how it was playing with Tim Duncan again…)

“This is the Tim I have always known. He is moving great. From watching him last year to now, he definitely looks like the old Tim Duncan. To get where we want to be, we are going to need him to play like that.”

(On Tony Parker coming out in the second quarter…)

“Things are going to be difficult for us playing without Tony. We are in a good position with Ginobili being able to play point and move the ball. We just have to figure it out. We did not expect for this to happen but Gary Neal and Manu Ginobili are picking up the slack.”

where all the pessimist sayin jax is going to be a chucker or trouble maker...fkn

One of them is right here. I don't mind saying that I think I was wrong. He could still go back to his old ways, but I like what I see so far.
