I know many of you are already making plans to attend a parade. Thats fine. I would probably be doing the same if I were in your shoes. You all definetly have an advantage. I too would much rather being up 3 - 2 right now. But I have supreme confidence in my team. They are battle tested. They have been in this situation before.
The common cliche' is that we excel when "our backs are against the wall"...well it official....back, meet wall. While I was sad that my team didn't win last night, I never felt the gloom and doom that some people seem to think I should feel. Maybe it's because that as a fan of basketball, I so thoroughly enjoyed the game last night, that us losing was almost secondary. I love my team, and always want them to win...but the fact of the matter is that Game 5 will be one that I remember for a long time. It will forever be a classic.
Going into the SBC will be a challenge. We all know that the Pistons haven't won there in forever. the pressure is extreme. For a different team, the pressure would probably be too much, but for these Detroit boys, I don't think they'll be too fazed. If they play up to their ability, they can get it done. I hope so, because I'm still hoping for a game 7 victory aswell!!
But if they fail to beat the odds, and secure a victory, so be it. It was a good year. A good playoff run. A great Finals match-up. I really wanted to play the Spurs last year. Just to see the best play the best. The Spurs are a great team., and there is no shame in losing to this orginization.
Regardless of the outcome, I'm sure we will be seeing eachother in more NBA Finals in the future. Each club is so similiar in it's make up, and in it's long term contracts w/ players.
No matter who wins, congradulations on a great season. I've enjoyed my short time here on these boards. While there have been a few people that didn't appreciate me being here, the majority of you made me feel welcomed. I've enjoyed the trash talk, and basketball discussions. You all have a good thing going here in this community.
I hope tomorrow is not the last game of the year. As I stated, I don't think it will be. But, if it is...the really sad part will be the fact that we have to wait so damn long till the next season starts. I'll get into football, and root for my team, but I will desperatley miss basketball.

Good luck to youe team tomorrow. You're gonna need it!!!

I don't think tommorrow will be a gimme for either team. I expect another close game. If the spurs count out det they'll lose. They got to sack up because I know det will.

Should be a great game.

Its not over yet because the Pistons have us right where they want us. They only play their best when they've dug a hole for themselves.

Remember guys, one more win to go, then we are champs. But until then, its still anyone's series.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the championship parade because I'm overseas right now. I'll get someone to tape it for me. ;)

Very nice post. It's been nice getting to trashtalk with people who are NOT Spurs fans:) It was getting a little old arguing with Whott, AHF, and IceBrewski :)

I am sure tommorow's game will also be a memorable and close game. I am by no means celebrating a championship victory just yet. I think a lot of people on this forum were going overboard just from the excitement of winning such a great, close game.

May the BEST team win :)

Don't sweat it, Forest... some people here don't know the difference between a troll and a fan of an opposing team. There was a troll run after games 3 and 4 here, a bunch of infantile "Pistons rule, Spurs drool" type posters, but you don't come close. You'll just have to have a bit of a thick skin while you're here. Enjoy your stay... and the 2005 Champions, your San Antonio Spurs! :lol

Tomorrow's game worries the shit out of me. Detroit is a good team when facing elimination, but I think the Spurs will come out with a close out mentality. I think Barry will step up and have a good game. He fucking better.

Here's my big thought on Game 6:

RASHEED.

It's all him. He still hasn't had a impressive game. He single handedly blew Game 5. (Did you guys see when he tried calling timeouts, but didn't have one?! My heart stopped, with flashbacks of Webber dooming my maize and blue).

Just about every game Rasheed scores 4 points really early, then has about 4 the rest of the game. I expect him to be force-fed, attack Duncan, and possibly get him in foul trouble.

I'll be honest. I'm a die-hard Pistons fan, but I think the only way we win Game 6 is for Sheed to attack TD and get him in foul trouble. Plus, Rip needs to step it up, and Ben, Chauncey, and Tay need to stay consistent. But it starts and ends with Sheed. The Pistons haven't lost a game in the playoffs when he's scored 20.

They've never been down 3-2 in the finals against the best home team with two more games in San Antonio.

It's not over officially, but unofficially - it's over!

Book it! Plan on calling in sick so you can attend the parade this weekend.

Spurs fans, you make me very nervous with your jinxing!!!

It is not over until we win one more game, and the Pistons have shown us that they are a worthy adversary, so how about we all admit that it ain't over till the final bell and stop jinxing out team? Grrrrrrrr.

That said, I think we can do it. But I ain't gonna behave like the ring is ours until it is!!!

If the Pistons can win ONE game... Game 6, then the whole series changes again. You all know that, but you won't admit it. If you think that the champs are going to lay down and hand over the title, you haven't been watching this series.

Tuesday may be the end of the Pistons season, or we can force Game 7. Neither one is guaranteed.

And about Sheed, yeah.. when he tried to call that timeout, my stomach just sank. Chris Webber all over again.
