Royce White has canceled NBA workouts the past two weeks due to "a neck injury," but has been playing basketball publicly in Des Moines.

Rockets rookie Royce White did not attend Tuesday’s practice amid the team’s plans to send him, Scott Machado and Donatas Motiejunas to the NBA Development League.

Rockets acting coach Kelvin Sampson said he did not know why White did not attend and did not speak with him on Monday when Motiejunas and Machado were told of the plans to send them to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

White has not played this season and has been on the inactive list for most games, including Monday’s when he was not on the bench.

Marcus Morris, asked if he had spoken with White about his experience in the D-League last year, said White had not been at practice for at least three days.

I wonder if Houston is going to just get rid of him. I was intrigued by what I saw in the summer league. I think he has the potential to be a Diaw-type of player. He has issues right now, but perhaps he'd do better in a stronger locker room like the one the Spurs have. Houston doesn't really seem to have a winning environment right now. I would probably move Blair for him if that move were coupled with another move to get a solid fourth (or fifth if Bonner gets his minutes back) big man.

In hindsight, perhaps it was not a good idea to be open and honest about my anxiety disorder - due to the current situations at hand that involve the nature of actions from the Houston Rockets. As a rookie, I want to settle into a team and make progress; but since preseason the Rockets have been inconsistent with their agreement to proactively create a healthy and successful relationship. At this point, the Rockets are aware of my position and the reason for my absence. Any other response is inaccurate. This is important to me. it is a health issue. I must advocate for my rights. it is a player-commodity league. The failure to meet my requests for support will end with me being unhealthy and that is not a consequence that I am willing to accept to play any sport.
