With the signing of Diaw, I realized that from primarily an offensive/scoring standpoint, just how good we are.
I mean Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Jackson, Neal, Diaw, Bonner(lol), Blair, Splitter even.
Every single guy on our team can put the ball in the hoop. Even Leonard who's lately shown flashes of a young Bowen from the 3pt line(although I can't back this up statistically, just the good ole eye test). We're really scary on offense. Now defense, that's a whole other story.

Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Jackson, and Neal can all create their own shot.
I haven't seen enough of Diaw w.o an elite passing PG in Nash to see if he can really score on his own w.o a great assist to him.
Splitter's post up game is still very wishy-washy, somedays he looks like some sort of low-post god, other days, he's Kwame. It might all have to do w. luck...Tiago shines best in pick and roll.
You kind of lost me with Bonner and Blair. They cannot create their own offense what so ever.

Granted I totally agree with you on Bonner and Blair, even Splitter to a degree. But I guess my point is that I'm talking about the team as a unit. And while Bonner and Blair can't create their own shots, they can still put the ball through the hoop. It doesn't matter how they get the ball through the hoop, what matters is that they can. Whether or not they set themselves up, or their teammates do it doesn't really matter in this case.

The team definitely has more shot creators which helps when plays break down which happens more often in the playoffs. SJax and Diaw are both guys who can get their own shot or create one for teammates.

Well I think I read either here on 48minutesofhell that Diaw's first year in Charlotte was pretty good. The main complaint I'm hearing about him is that apparently he's not active enough. Passing instead of shooting, not taking over games, and the like. I haven't really watched him myself but if that's the issue with him than he should be fine in San Antonio since the team wouldn't be relying on him to be #1. (lol Charlotte)
Manu, Tim, Tony, SJax, and Neal are all very capable.
I think Splitter is still adjusting honestly but his post-up percentage is still pretty good overall. His misses are just really ugly so they stand out more. Tbh, instead of faking for the open look every time I think he should take a few extra dribbles and push his man completely under the basket before shooting. It'll usually be either a goaltend or a foul or a made bucket at that point. He's proven himself to be someone who learns from his mistakes though so I'm fine with him trying and failing for however long it takes. He'll figure it out.
I'd put Leonard at about where Splitter is as far as shot creation right now although the way he's been improving that could change.
Blair is not a good offensive player. He's undisciplined and it seems like he doesn't know how to play within himself. He should really be coming off the bench or not playing at all. Bonner is one dimensional and he can be counted on to miss when it matters. He seems like a nice person but I'd use him as a situational player during the regular season and not at all come play-off time.
Defensively the pieces are there to get things done with SJax, Duncan, Splitter, Leonard, etc. All while maintaining a respectable offense. It'll honestly depend on how Pop decides to handle things.
I will say that I don't think the Spurs make the WCF with the rotation currently as is. The defense will probably end up being the biggest problem. He'll have to change it up within the next month or so because to put the team in a good position the best players need to be playing and used to each other.

We have as good a chance as anyone in the West, and we have annihilated the Thunder the past 2 seasons. Only teams I worry about are Memphis/LA, which isn't to say I think they're better.

with the addition of Boris Diaw of Bobcats waivers, I definetly believe, this is by far the best offensive spurfan team ever, tbqh

I think this is pretty silly. Maybe you could make an argument because of some statistics, but I think you have to factor in tempo. Constantly playing a half court offensive and almost always feeding the ball into the low post is going to lead to less points scored, simply because there are less possessions. We now play uptempo.
Simply looking at pure talent and taking into account decreased athleticism I don't see how you can make the argument.
Besides, I could really careless how good the offense is in and of itself. No desire to root for the Suns.

EDIT: I meant make the argument for best Spurs offensive bb teams. Not overall. Not by a longshot.

I can read SF and I can tell you they aren't even the best offensive team of 2011-2012. Picking up A-Jax and Diaw makes them a better basketball team offensively, but not historically great.

They're very effecient but not exactly dominant on offense. The Suns teams had some very good offensive teams a few years back and I don't think we're as good offensively as they were. The playoffs will be a better test on how good this team is on offense. In the regular season just through superior coaching the Spurs are able to get wins against lazy, unprepared teams. In the playoffs, the scenario changes. And I'm still not sold on this team being able to dominate on offense on demand in the playoffs. But with SJax, the team might have some more swagger so who knows...

Dude, come up with better titles for you threads. I sent several emails "Let me in. Why the hell can't I post. I swear to God the first four letters of my name are not meant to offend. "
Now I know why they wait.

The '05 Spurs team was able to outscore the one of the best offensive Suns teams in the playoffs.
