One of My Neighbors Got Robbed Last Night

Not really neighbor, but at the other end of my complex (about 300 yards away).

Guy came up and put a knife to her throat when she was fumbling with her keys to get in the front door of her apartment, took her wallet.

We all got letters today advising us to watch out for this, and that this kind of theft (when people were trying to get into their apartment) was becoming more and more common in and around Dallas apartment complexes.

Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone up here and also those living in apartments elsewhere, apparently a lot of the crime trends in Dallas find their way to other cities, especially in Texas.

I was planning on treating myself to a concealed handgun class when September rolled around, looks like I'm going to be moving that timetable up.

We had a rash of home invasion/push door incidents in San Antonio awhile back. (not to long ago actually)... but they all seem ot be commited against women, who look to be an easier target.
Thankfully they've slowed down to a trickle here since most of the guys have been caught.
