I know Blair is very unpopular over here but I have been a fan since his rookie year. He has been doing poor this year I must agree but is it me or has his game been starting to come alive now that Gino's back? Him and Gino on the pick and roll also are fun to watch.

Blair will have a couple of games like these and then all of a sudden he can't make a shot, rebound, or play defense for several games in a row.
The one thing that was different that I really appreciated was when he made that monster dunk he followed with a scowl rather than that aloof smile.

PNR his good, other then that when he tries to self create from the lowpost, expect a stupid circus shot or no outlet pass

you also need to accept the fact are you willing to accept 3 stupid consecutive plays b4 he finds his mojo each half?...which could either win/lose games for stupidity we dont need

all blair does is make wide open layups off great setups from ginobili/parker
its no suprise that once ginobili went down blair scored in double digits once in like the 20+ games
really any 7 footer who can rebound could replicate what blair did and more
this team would be a lot better if we had someone like omer asik and he could average 10+ off dunks from ginobili/parker
tiago is also a million times better then blair

Splitter is a better defender and plays the pick and roll as well, if not better.

Blair does finish well around the rim, good hands

Teams seem to forget about Blair in the paint while trying to contain and/or deny penetration to Parker & Ginobili. Much the same way they sometimes forget about Bonner out on the perimeter. Basically both are just bottom feeders living off better players.

Both guys are useful in the spurs system, but also can be fairly easily gameplanned out of the equation in the playoffs by a smart coach and good team strategy.

Yep. Even on the nights when Blair goes off his +/- is usually still negative. He gives those points right back.

If you're going to play Blair though, pairing him with Ginobili maximizes his output. The advanced stats back this up. Gino just does a good job setting him up and minimizes the circus shots.

Someone get that dam GIF in here. That was the purpose of this thread. And stop hatin on my guy.:ihit na just joking I can see where you can dislike him because he does do some stupid plays and I hate seeing him try to score off of Isos. It's usually a block or just him throwing it up. But that's not his game. He can bang down low, gots great hands around the rim for easy buckets and 2 chance points, but most of all I love the p/r with Gino. Thats highlights all day.

I know Ginobili coming back has a lot to do with Blair's production, but I wonder if SJax's presence hasn't done something as well. Blair thought he was gangsta coming from Pittsburgh but maybe seeing what a real og Texas nigga is like has made Blair step up his game.

Not related with the premise of this thread but why is Blair so emo on twitter?

Like I said before, whether he's an asset or a liability is a toss up on any given night. The cherry pickers on the forum show up after he has a good game and do the "told you so" routine, but they disappear when he's out there looking like a fat fucking retard.

Oh, and he dunked.

Blair and Tiago having Manu on the floor is equivalent putting in a cheat code to boost stats in a video game. Same thing for when PHX had Nash feeding Amare and Matrix.

Yes, it does seem that Grizz plays a lot better when Manu is around.

On Grizz, he is a very capable offensive player who has a multitude of moves and great touch around the basket, and he can even play tough defence on the right matchup. However, he suffers from an infuriating inability to find consistency, which I think is mental. His Twitter account is quite disturbing.

Anyway, I like the kid, he tries really hard, and for all the frustration he is still improving. If we can re-jig the big rotation next year I think he'd be an ideal energy player off the bench.

Wow after monster games against OKC and Philly all Blair gets is heat. Yet there are some in here that are always heaping praise on Tiago. Well all Tiago has done as of late is excell in collecting splinters while on the bench. You don't contribute anything on the team when you DNP. Not hating on Tiago I hope he heals up b/c we will need him against the longer teams like the Lakers. That being said I can't recall a single game this season where Tiago led the team in scoring or was the dominant force in a game, at best he was a contributer. Yet he gets all the love :toast and Dejuan gets all the :flipoff

did you not see all the uncontested layups he was making under the rim
and the one 30+ min game tiago played was vs houston since tim was out
he went 11/13 for 25/10/4
tiago never forcing anything like blair is the reason why he doesnt lead the team in scoring which doesnt matter anyway, hes still the most efficent player on the team
the defense is better when blair is subbed out for tiago
neal/ginobili/parker all play better with tiago

and im not sure if you remember but last time the spurs played philli at philli where they won once in like 10 years
tiago statline
15 pts on 7/10 shooting in 17 minutes
blair
3/7 in 18 minutes

Seconded.

Tiago brings defense to the floor. Tiago also brings efficiency.
