I bet on the Lakers at +7, hopefully Kobe doesn't blow it..

Bynum's presence is opening things up for the entire team..it's evident that Bynum is now LA's best player, and opposing teams have begun to adjust their game plans accordingly..

Bynum is our most efficient and most important but he may not even be our 2nd best "player". Pau is a better passer and shooter. And his post game is more refined though Drew's is getting better. even at his age Kobe is still better than Drew overall.

Why is Kobe better than Bynum, tbh?..

There's no way Gasol is a better player than Bynum, at this point..being more versatile does not translate to being the superior player..

son the refs do favor the Lakers. everyone and their brother knows that has been going on for decades. the NBA loves to control the outcome of games and favor super star players. this is no secret, however it is entertaining to watch. the NFL is probably the least biased league in sports. oh and lol at your boy at work. that is just silly. I do however believe that the NFL is making an example out of the Saints ONLY because they are one of the top 3-5 elite teams in the league even though they have known for decades that players do this type of stuff on each and every team. The Saints are just their scapegoat to say to the media "hey give us a pat on the back!"

Lakers fault for not knowing how to develop talent (Bynum aside) and thinking they can always solve every personnel problem through trades or free agency.

Popovich was super-predictable and one-dimensional on offense during the first half of the 00s with his "throw it into Duncan and get out of the way (but if you're double teamed, pass it to one of the shooters camping out at the arc)" playcalling, and the Spurs still managed to win 3 titles because they knew how to grind games out and close. Obviously these Lakers are nowhere as good defensively as those Spurs, but Brown's approach isn't too far off from vintage Pop.

the Lakers do the same 4 up 1 down ISO Kobe or Bynum in post, problem is the 4 aren't like the spurs they can't make 3s, only Barnes can so often they get good ball movement that ends in a turnover or 3 seconds because nobody wants to brick he 3, a bricked 3 equals a fast break for a team.
he Lakers do benefit from pace slowing down in playoffs, and milking their starters so depth doesn't hurt them but their defense has to come back. Allowing 91 a game was good, now 100 every night is a 2nd round exit.

Gasol does it all the time :downspin:

Nice :downspin: but that was stupid as hell for him to shoot that 3. Who on GS should be able to check him? They got a bunch of midgets out there. 5 rebs. 4/13 FGAs. 1 block. Against GS. He took a major step back in my book. Totally unacceptable. :td

Pau and Drew should be getting 30+ shots a game between the two. The efficiency for them inside is just too high to ignore the inside out game.

You guys say that ... but do you watch the games? Unless Pau has an obvious mismatch like last night ...he is shooting jumpers, not posting up. Even smaller aggressive PF's like Milsap sometimes Pau cant back them down. to be fair when Bynum and Pau play together there is no block for Pau to occupy and Kobe loves the block too. Pau is sacrificing his game. But too often when we need him to beat his man, Pau hesitates, defers to Kobe or the open guy or settles for a jumper. Even when he was hitting them against Dallas, he settles too much. Last night was the first time in a long while... I saw both the left and righty hooks Pau actually has a better post-game than Drew but it has been dormant. Since Bynum wants to shoot jumpers, maybe we should switch roles on offense. Only thing is Drew is not as good a passer ...

Why do you play dumb sometimes? What's happened more this year: Bynum grabbing 5 or less rebounds in a game or Kobe shooting sub 40%?

Kobe is shooting like crap HE is on pace for his second worst FG% season. Still does not change the fact that Bynum has yet to prove he can be a reliable #1 option. The 3 pointer is not that big a deal ...how is that any different than the shitty 2-3 shots Kobe takes every game? or the bal out hesitation jumpers Pau takes 2-3 times a game?
My point is it's easy to be more efficient when you are taking less shots and fed 2 alley-oops per game. Bynum is not the best player... yet. And only someone obtuse or hating would think otherwise. Drew is starting to draw double teams and is improving as a passer but until he becomes a conistent play-maker and shot maker for 4 quarters he is not our best player and if Pau plays like last night he may not be our 2nd either ...

Mike would be dumb to bench Kobe at this point. Kobe's on fire (4/11).

I expect another blazing hot 9/25 performance tonight.
Kobe's so damn predictable. :lol

He's putting up 18/12 on a team where a ballhogging 2 guard is jacking shots. I'd run an offense through him.

Of course you would, he would be the best player on your team ... :lol
Just kidding. Cant just look at stats. Spurs best players are all good to great passers. YOu cant compare that to Bynum. Again bynum is improving as a passer but he is mostly just an efficient scorer which is great but until he improves his passing even more, your offense would be inconsistent until he improves. But why let basketball knowledge get in the way when you can point at stats?

Your probably right if he really is that bad a passer out of double teams. I dont watch many Laker games. But the only way for him to get better is experience.

He is getting better at it. duncan was not great at it when he was a rookie. But duncan spent 4 years in a great conference learning the game in college. He even though he wa snot very good at passing out of doubles as a rook still better than Drew at it. Bynum came from Hs and has missed 3.5 years to injury. he is getting better but hard to build a great offense around a mediocre passer. But like I said he has improved quite a bit just this season ...

Doesn't help that Lakers can't sink a 3 either... spacing is awful. But the larger problem for LA is the bench and the coach.

I think Bynum's three point attempt against the Warriors shows the total mindset of the team. They just don't give a fuck this season thats why they lost so many games.

Can you imagine Bynum pulling this stunt under Phil Jackson? Jackson would give Bynum 10 minutes a game and play Troy Murphy all month to prove a point.

Jackson is a badass while Brown kisses his players in front of the cameras. The guy is a joke lol.

Though Jackson did permit Gasol to step out the side door last Spring.
