For those who might find any interest in this, tonight The Admiral's son - Corey Robinson - committed to Notre Dame on a football scholarship for the Class of 2013. Corey is a Wide Receiver at San Antonio Christian and chose the Irish over offers from Iowa, Kansas, Navy, North Carolina and Wake Forest. Other programs showing interest included Air Force, Baylor, Duke, Northwestern, Rice, Stanford, UTSA and Vanderbilt. Father and son had visited South Bend over the weekend to take part in ND's Junior Day.

I was wondering how old is Robinson`s son and when he will go to NCAA, but never made thread about it. Now I know

It would have been a cool story if he went to Wake. But apparently he watched Rudy . . .

P.S.

In before "lol utsa"

This is his middle son. His older son, David Robinson Jr., goes to UT.

If only UT weren't so damned elitist in picking recruits

i would have loved to see Corey in burnt orange

apparently he didn't start really blowing up til relatively late in the recruiting process, and ND was actually the first high profile school to pay him some visits

Hope he tears it up for ND

Corey is 6'5". If he gets a late growth spurt like David you think he's still going to play football?

Is David Jr. playing basketball or football? How tall is he?

If he grows 3-4 inches, he will be ideal to play Bowen's role.

Hey, UT isn't that elitist. They picked Garett Gilbert over Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III.

Anyway, Corey better have some thick skin. That ND coach is a real a-hole.

David Jr isn't playing sports. I think he's a couple inches shorter than Corey.

The youngest brother (Justin) is the one everyone says will be the tallest.

I'm not sure why he picked Notre Dame over Standord. Notre Dame glory is way behind them. They have not been a serious contender for years, They are the Dallas Cowboys of college football.

And obviously, Mack Brown didn't think your Corey could play in the Big 12.

Ahhh the sheltered life at SA Christian and the Robinson home.

The kid's ears are gonna combust when he hears the Kelley start the swearing.

And UT can have almost any kid they want. They already had a great crop of wideouts recruited, probably best for Corey and his playing and education that he went to ND. Unless he is really strong in academics, UT might have required him to major in Gym Maintenance.

Hope the kid does well. Hope he gets to see the field, and if not, he is going to get a great education anyways. God knows Dad could not afford that tuition.

Another wide receiver from San Antonio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarett_Dillard) went on to set NCAA records at Rice; would've loved to see Corey there.

Hard to believe he turned down a scholarship to the Naval Academy.
