Former Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter (D) on Wednesday compared Mitt Romney to an actress in pornographic films because he had shifted position so often throughout his political career.

“The Republican Party has moved so far to the right, you can’t recognize Mitt Romney,” Specter told MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski. “What Mitt Romney will appear in October?”

“Mitt Romney has changed positions more often than a pornographic movie queen,” he added.

Specter, who before he switched parties in 2009 had supported Rick Santorum’s Senate bid, also believes that also believes that his former colleague and current presidential candidate is now too extreme.

“If you think women have no place in the workforce, if you’re against contraception, if you think John Kennedy’s speech in Houston separating church and state was wrong, you are too far out of the mainstream to be president,” he explained.

Specter’s latest book, Life Among Cannibals, contends that extremists — like the tea partiers that forced him out of the Senate — are destroying the political system.

~~I'm sure Willard's wife enjoys his changing of positions.

More MSNBC references from the forums pothead. Speaking of change. Specter had a R next to his name from 1965 to 2009. Now he has D. God bless our great political leaders and their words of wisdom.

A lot of that is because Romney talks about policy moreso than other candidates. Most everything is vague principles and themes and its easy to stay consistent given that. Romney will actually talk about policy specifics more than other candidates and he waffles as the polling stations and lobby takes him.

Really when it comes down to it, if you think there is going to be much difference between the two panderers that are our candidates you are deluding yourself.
