$116 to fill up my truck. And prices are going to continue to rise all summer?

We may test the breaking point for a lot of people this summer. I don't see how someone that makes $8-$10 an hour and needs a car to get to work, etc. is gonna be able to do it.

Is there a problem here? I pull 10,000# trailers and can't do that with a fucking Prius. It has a performance chip in it and it has to have premium or it pings.

Just hire 50 unemployed Americans to pull that thing rickshaw style. Good for the economy, good for the planet!

Thanks for pointing that out....

I know you were joking, but for the less intellectually gifted in here that would probably pounce on that statement the trailer actually only weighs about 2000# but the loads can be 8000# plus.

Today's news has the average price of regular at $4.16 in my state, that makes Premium more than $4.36 average. Probably $4.40.

The Bus. I did it. I hated it, but I did it.

A motorcycle. I did it. I loved it, and I did it.

Having been in a motorcycle wreck I can attest that motorcycles are great right up to that last second when they aren't.

Eh, they say that there are two types of motorcycle riders, those who have been in a motorcycle wreck, and those who haven't yet.

I came extremely close within 6 months of getting the bike. By the time the guy stopped I was able to kick his bumper as I passed :nope. I went and installed a highway blaster horn on my bike on the way home.

Anyway, I understand that concer, but there is another option (bus). In addition to that, they could set up a car pool.

I will freely admit that it probably won't break the oilco's hearts if Obama is defeated in November. He hasn't exactly been friendly towards them.

Seeing gas prices raise during spring isn't particularly a new occurrence, it's these obscene spikes. I suspect that uncertainty about the next election plays some role into speculation.

You can always make your own gas. I think it cost around 1500 for a still and after all is said and done you save about a dollar a gallon. God bless.

Replace the board? Get a diesel?

I get that it sucks but its $8/g over in England right now.

Here is a good site for international gas prices

http://gasoline-germany.com/international.phtml

You can see that we pay half of what most other developed countries do. China has better prices than us but they nationalize their energy industry. Gas very close to free in Venezuela. Same thing there. If your a country with a low population and oil reserves then you win the prize too.

I love riding a bike, but really never did of the street. I always worried about the idiots who the state is willing to give licenses to. Did a lot of trail riding, and through the woods though.

China does indeed subsidize their gasoline. That is part of why they are getting so many new cars on the road.

Funny thing is that they would pay through the nose, just like we would, if Iran closed the Straits of Hormuz.

I would imagine the Chinese made that crystal clear to the Iranian leadership at some point.

China has, for a long time walked a line of trying to stay above the fray, but their dependence on oil is going to drag them into this, just like US.

Gotta love that. Welcome to the world stage, assholes. Now help us figure out what to do with these nutjobs.

Worry about the rapidly aging population.

They have little situational awareness, fading eyesight, and slow reflexes.

Robot cars can't get here fast enough, IMO.

I'm sure they'll figure out a way to get by. The last time gas prices were this high they managed to "do it" by defaulting on their debts. Maybe they'll go that route again.
