I was expecting something more like this, considering his hesitancy to take a shot. :blah

He shoots more with the camera. But joking aside, that's a very interesting article. Great to see Diaw has other interests outside basketball.

:lol @ capek

Looks like a cool hobby. But if he re-signs with the Spurs, hopefully Diaw can mix in a few salads and pick up a basketball every now and then between photographs to stay in somewhat decent shape during the offseason. Gaining 50 pounds in the offseason will not go over well with Pop ... or any of the players for that matter.

Wow! That's great to hear. I'm into photography as well. We're both using Canon system. :D In my experience, I only know few into photography who also plays basketball here in our country, I dunno why.

Diaw isn't only a atypical basketball player on the court, he is also atypical off the court.

Broussard made a nice article about him few years ago:

Knowing how Diaw has been raised helps understand why he plays this way. He didn't go to a traditional school but he went to some new age school based on letting more freedom to kids, letting them develop their creativity and working together on a common project. Another anecdote is that after a game while he was looking at the stat sheet to see his stats, his mom take it away and say that the only interesting stat is that his team won the game.

(...) But mostly what young Diaw did was look for the open man. To many, this would have been reason enough to turn to volleyball. Not for Diaw.
lol

Great (and old) article.

:tu good read

oddly I actually read that Nat Geo article a few months ago or so. Interesting to learn about how Boris was involved, however little. Shame whats happening to Tigers right now, definitely my favorite animal on Earth, sucks that we cant respect some of Mother Nature's more beautiful, awesome, and supremely bad ass creatures.
