Live on the Weather Channel, NOW.

The twister went thru this truckyard (Family Dollar distro center?) and literally lifted a dozen or so SEMI TRAILERS and dumped them up to a quarter of a mile away, 5 or 6 of them across a major freeway.

Everyone in that area ok? It apparently did serious damage.

Cry Havoc

I have no idea, haven't heard any bad news yet

I was watching a chasertv cam of the storm and he had to stop chasing because he came across so much damage that he wanted to stop and help the injured. This is just north of Mansfield.

Storm chaser just said it's wrapping back up. Keep watching, this stuff isn't over yet.

Crazy... it looked like those things were being pulled 100 feet in the air.

Yeah, big hook echo on radar. Looks like another round is going to hit a bit West of the first twister.

Wild Cobra Kai
04-03-2012, 02:02 PM
all the sudden the wind picked up and rain was coming in sideways and there were a bunch of booms not too far away...it must have been the outer edge of the twister...then it was gone as quick as it came its already traveled a good distance away

You might have been hearing the transformers blowing. They were popping every couple of seconds for about 5-10 minutes while twister #1 was on the ground.

CORRECTION : 3 mi SouthEast of Euless

i'm no weatherman but thats what i meant, the actual tornado didn't hit us but it was close enough that we still felt the effects coming off it. there are injuries reported right in my area, like scary close.

yeah like 80% of tornado warnings are just precautionary but trucks being lifted in the air is no joke:wow

BUMP

it's always awkward whenever this stuff happens, because they cry wolf so many times you don't know if you need to actually grab a mattress off the bed and head to the tub or if its fine ya know.

tbh whenever it's just a long line of storms, like DFW often gets, Tornado Warnings are never anything major, just slight circulation.

Isolated supercells like these should be taken serious

They DO want people out there, just people who are trained. Meh. Chasing tornadoes is kind of like that anyway, since you're fascinated by something that causes so much death/destruction.

They updated the report about Six Flags. No damage just rain, per park sources.

I used to live in Kansas, and back some years ago there was a huge one that came through, I could see it from the bedroom window it was so close. My aunt "Em" and my dog and I made our way out to the shelter, but I didn't quite make it. The dog stayed with me and we rode it out in the house. I had some weird dreams about witches and midgets and a lion with a rusty dick.
