Wow is all I can say. Is he locked up for next year?

Player-option on his contract. The only bad part tonight is it probably increased the chances that he opts out. :lol

That ankle breaker late was flat nasty shit. No, he has a player option, but it's just insurance if he gets hurt or something. He'll likely opt out. I'd love to keep him. He's super quick, but not really a PG, and he's only effective if someone else can run the team. This team is perfect for him.

I knew he could score. But TBh he's even better offensively than I gave him credit for.

Now I really, really want to see how he can defend against a better team. I hope he can surprise me there, too. He definitely has the quickness for it.

I think he opts out but resigns. What a great young player. Like a shorter Neil.lol

If he delivers during the playoffs and opts out, it will be difficult to keep him.

Haha his accent is crazy. I want him to say " gday mate".

1 good game wont make him opt out but if he continues to play well other teams r gonna take notice quickly

Damn I thought a team option was originally reported

Not really sure of that. He has to be in the right situation. He's NOT a PG, and would struggle to run a team, and you can't really play him at the 2 guard because of size. He needs to be on a team like the Spurs that runs plays and passes a lot. That hides a lot of his playmaking deficits.

Agreed about itching to see his defense. I'm not that impressed with him with after tonight though - but I'm not in a negative way. It's just that we all knew he was explosive and he did his damage against a bottom dwelling Cavaliers team.

I'm happy that we signed him and I'm not saying his performance tonight wasn't a welcome sight, but I wouldn't call him the "real deal" just yet.

That's what I was thinking! Seemed like Neal was getting a bit jelous out there and decided to show Mills that he isn't ready to give up the hot-shooter-off-the-bench role :lol

I really like Mills' handles and he has got some quick feet. Looked like he was trying to prove something to Pop out there. There is not enough minutes for all these guards :downspin:

That ankle-breaker was absolutely Iverson-esque.

Parker is groovy man.

His jumper was money tonight

and that fraction of second to get off teardrop... dayum.

He just looks so relaxed out there.

He doesn't shoot like this every game guys.

Expectations heaped on Spurs plays immediately after one good shooting night are always ridiculously high. Patty is a borderline NBA backup PG at this point, that is it.

Very glad he played well against the JV tonight. Can't wait to see him playing against the varsity going forward. :)

I know he won't shoot like that every night. but I'm sure he can average 8-10 without even trying in very limited minutes. How many turnovers did he have?

Does Patty have a twitter? If so, someone needs to let him know that we want him to introduce the 3 goggles to the Spurs.

Right after he introduces the 3 goggles to the Spurs, Pop will reintroduce Patty to the bench.

That's a great idea if you want Pop to do this to Mills:

Pop probably wouldn't even call a timeout first.

What was the interview about? He's a funny guy and a genuine character.

If it's his voice you are laughing at, not everyone who doesn't sound like you has a funny voice.

Neal has become somewhat expendable imo. This team is stacked with shooters, and Neal can't run the point...keep Mills!!

He's not borderline, this is what he can do against NBA competition...just don't expect it every single night. Spurs needed another PG, this is what he's been signed to do.

Yall really think Pop would take it that badly? I think hes loosened up over the years tbh, the knee high socks for example were completely out of the norm for the Spurs but he didnt seem to mind. As long its for the team unity and not for showboating, I think Pops would be cool.

I think Mills would be a nice weapon against the Lakers to throw at poor Steve Blake.

Ignorant.

You need a cold blooded shooter.

Neal is a cold-blooded assasin. He's a guy that wants the ball with it all on the line, and he's proven that he can make the shot. If anything, getting Mills will allow him to get back to what he does best. It's not even close to an either-or proposition.
