I'm watching ESPN News right now, and am being "force fed" highlights of Robert Horry's game winning 3 in overtime against my beloved Pistons. Why can't I seem to escape that horrible moment in Detroit basketball history? What a heartbreaker!

After witnessing what may have been the last hope for the Pistons to repeat as World Champions...I started thinking that it really fucking sucks being a Michigan sports fan...and so you don't have to strain your brain...I'll tell you why.

If you sport the maize and blue, you have Chris Webber calling The Timeout, single handedly stealing UM's National Championship. Since that wasn't enough, he also stole all their wins and Big Ten Chammpionships. Damn Chris...what a way to leave your stamp on things! Don't forget the Colorado hail mary at the Big House.

Us State fans have...well we pretty much have every football season...but more importantly...The Bobby Williams era...Smoke Green! Blow White! :smokin Most recently we have a can of royal ass wooping handed out by fat ass Sean May and his other first round draft pick teammates.

We have the Red Wings getting swept out of the 1995 Finals.

We have the Larry Bird steal on the inbounds pass from Isiah.

How about them Lions....damn where do I start? Andre Ware...Rodney Peete...Scott Mitchell...Eric Kramer...Wayne Fonts...Bobby Ross....Marty "I'll take the wind!" Morningwig...Joey Harrington?...Barry Sanders running wild on the Cowboys only to have their asses handed to them by the Redskins in the 1991 NFC Championship game...oh. Did I say Barry Sanders? How 'bout Barry being Rickey Williams' role model while Rickey was still smoking gravity bongs with meatheads at a UT fraternity? :smokin

We have the Tigers...yeah...we have the Tigers.

So now I can add Robert Horry's 3 and crotch grab to my list...Thanks Horry...you have no idea how great that feels.

After recalling all my dissappointments, I realize that hey...at least I'm not a fucking Cubs fan....NOW THAT MUST REALLY SUCK!

Peace, Love, and hopefully a good game... :fro

Detroit has had lots of championship parades. It would suck to be from Cleveland.

Horry has killed the Spurs in the past. I guess it's just your turn.

Lions have a good wide receiver if he can stay healthy.

Yeah, really. Detroit has three NBA titles, a couple of Stanley Cups, and even a WS win in the past 25 years.

Cleveland, Philadelphia, and DC bleed for you.

That's what you get for having Chris Webber in your building. He even inspired Rasheed.

I've been following the Lions a little bit over the years since it seems that a bunch of UT players wind up there (Roy, Shaun Rogers, Cory Redding, and rookie FA Will Matthews now, Bryant Westbrook, Shane Dronett, Van Malone earlier). Joey sucks.

Bitching about the Wings in 1995 doesn't make much sense considering they won Cups in '97, '98, and '02. And your Spartans won the NCAA's in 2000, right? Throw in last years NBA championship and I wouldn't think you've have a bad last ten years or so. Even your WNBA team won a title, and the guy who owns the Pistons won the Stanley Cup last year with the Lightning.

edit: "Smoke Green! Blow White!" I completely forgot Smoker went to rehab last year!

Off the top of my head:

#1: Cleveland
#2: Philadelphia
#3: Milwaukee
#4: Seattle
#5: San Diego
#6: DC/Atlanta (tie) : Braves post-season record is almost like losing

Buffalo Bills

Yeah but the Dbacks have a recent WS win.

Buffalo is an excellent one. Bills and Sabres.

Cleveland: Even thought the Indians have made the World Series in the last ten years, losing the NFL team that Americans identify with your town and then getting a crappy expansion team to replace it absolutely sucks. Especially after seeing the Ravens bring home the hardware. The NBA Cavaliers were an afterthought until LeBron showed up. Just look at the list of retired jerseys: 7 - Bingo Smith; 22 - Larry Nance; 25 - Mark Price; 34 - Austin Carr; 42 - Nate Thurmond; 43 - Brad Daugherty. No NHL and no significant college teams.

That's my #1.

Yeah 98 I believe but then since they've had the worst record in baseball a few times

Coyotes suck in hockey too, but it's been a while since I've thought about that sport

Detroit really has nothing to complain about. Pretty much every pro franchise they had has won the championship...Lions in the 50s(albeit before the Superbowl), Wings have 10 Stanley Cups, Shock have 1 title, Pistons have 3, Tigers have 5 Titles(played in 9). I won't comment on other cities.

That is a good site that shows results of titles and such. That is the quotes page...some good quotes.

I was born in Michigan and have been a Lion fan since I started watching the NFL. Michigan has a lot of sports history to be proud of! Being an older dude, I remember watching Mickey Lolich be a witch in the '68 series and beat a very good Cardinal team. Michigan football is consistently good and has a recent national championship. I don't follow hockey but I do know the Wings have won a number of Stanley Cups. Michigan State has an NCAA championship in b-ball.

My Lions? They last one a championship when I was born......1957.

Since I have lived in San Antonio since 1976 I am now a Spurs fan....... I became one in the early 80's right about the time they hit a dry spell.

yes the Cubbies got into the playoffs 2 yrs back.....and the BUlls made it this year.

But overall that City has had a serious overall sports losing streak for 5+ yrs.
Nothign Spectacular is going on in CHI town. NAD do we even remeber "da Bears"??
